About this listen

On a cold December evening in 2016 a terrified young woman turns up at a brothel in Germany with a French passport but doesn’t speak a word of French. The owner is suspicious and alerts the German authorities, igniting a groundbreaking and history-making global investigation where ancient rituals collide with the modern world of crime fighting.

From RAW, the producers of hits such as The Tinder Swindler, Three Identical Strangers and Don't F**k With Cats, as well as Audible Original, The Second Victim, comes a fast-paced, gripping true crime podcast, CURSED, presented by British-Nigerian journalist Femi Oke (CNN/Aljazeera), with an original score and sound design by South African music producer and DJ, Esa Williams.

Some of the content may be disturbing to some listeners - involving accounts of physical and sexual violence, suicidal thoughts and intense human suffering. So please take care when listening.

Excellent true story with good ending!

Great real life action with true spiritual overtones. This taught me more about Nigerian culture. I highly recommend it.

A story too familiar for most

I enjoyed listening to this story as it reminded me of my ex’s family and their dealings. I didn’t realize how common this story is for many. The saying is true: poverty corrupts good values… it’s not an excuse but it sheds like on how desperate people are in their conditions to survive.

Everyone should listen to this story.

I listened to this story twice despite the fact that it was a terribly sad and despicable tale. My heart goes out to the women involved & their courage & strength was a testament to hope and resilience.

The eye opening knowledge

We have so much to be thankful for... Our bad days can in no way compare to what these people live, die and survive in their own journey through life.

Riveting Story

This story was amazing. Very well produced, written, and directed. Even the voice overs were pleasant to listen to. The overall story was amazing and when people work together we see how much can be accomplished.

Who doesn’t love it when the devil gets her butt kicked by the good guys!

A true story that I did not know about. This one has it all (goodness, evil, fear , intimidation, bravery, narcissism, compassion, corruption, crime, diligence, and punishment…to name a few)!
Loved the production…hated the subject matter…app
