Great story! Ended to soon!

Half man/ half machine - That is s cyborg. Never thought about cyborgs as humany characters. This story was great because it showed you typical machine mostly cyborgs as well as the mostly human cyborgs and their emotions.

Melissa is a college student who got caught up into breaking out cyborgs from their holding facility. While her group is executing their plan a group of cyborgs show up. These cyborgs also want to break out the cyborgs. However, they feel that the human group is in the way.

Savage the leader of the cyborg group is a gung ho military mission cyborg. He believes that cyborgs should live in peace, However, there is nothing that says he is to take any life other than a cyborg as important. Savage believes if you are in his way you wiil be removed from his path by any means necessary.

Thunder is a memeber of Savages group who doesn't want to hurn humans. He is also the one that is most sympathetic to saving of lives both human and cyborg alike.

Thunder and Melissa meet, Melissa and Savage meet. And here's where the best part of the story is. With hate, compassion, action, and even a little bit of war you will see how the 3 react to each other. Where lines are drawn and how far one will go for what they want.

Cyborg Warrior by Lisa Lace

I really enjoy and recommend Lisa Lace's futuristic sci-fi series, Burning Metal. They are always a great mix of social dilemma, danger, big hot sexy cyborgs and the women who fall in love for them. Talk about unlikely lovers, but Ms. Lace makes it work and keeps the story fun to read.

CYBORG WARRIOR is the fourth book in the series (but they are stand-alone and can be read in any order) and as usual a completely unique and riveting story. Melissa is a young college girl who is pretty much just off the farm and open to a little adventure and romance. She has a crush on a cute guy who sits behind her in one of his classes, so when he begins to tell her about his compassion for the cyborgs who are being held captive and destroyed simply because they exist, she is eager to learn more and get involved in the cause to free them. Okay, okay. She is eager to spend more time with this guy in the hopes of a little romance. And yes, of course, she will go with him to a high-security facility where Purity Force is holding the cyborgs captive in order to liberate them!

Thunder is part of a rogue group of cyborg soldiers who have made it their mission to save as many of their fellow cyborg brothers as possible. When they discover a large group of their fellow soldiers are being held captive and are scheduled to be destroyed they set a plan to rescue them. But there are humans there making a mess of things including their rescue mission. Things get a little crazy and Thunder takes Melissa hostage in order to gain a little leverage, but he finds he doesn't want to harm her and really doesn't want anyone else to either... but not because he's attracted to the human. This is where the danger, and the attraction, and some cyborg - human sexy times really start to heat up! These two are unlikely lovers, but the chemistry is off the charts. Every thing and everyone is against them. They aren't even sure they'll survive! Great story! Kept me listening that's for sure. 4 stars

* I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did an excellent job. His characterizations greatly contributed to my overall enjoyment of the story.

Thunderstruck

I am digging this cyborg series. Lisa Lace has a way of pulling me into stories I would normally not think are "my thing." I would not generally consider myself very much into sci-fi beyond a remembered penchant for Start Trek TNG, but both the TerraMates and Burning Metal series are definitely fun escapes for me. Maybe it's the amount of story she can pack into what I consider a shorter listen, avoiding chapter upon chapter of unnecessarily descriptive imagery, while still giving you a good escape.

Thunder and Melissa are a somewhat unlikely match, and theirs is a super fast and intense "courtship," but it was a great ride. I gave the story 4 stars just because I liked the previous 2 a bit more than this one. Overall, you can't go wrong with this series.

a peculiar tale of war and love

I received this one for an honest review and I did have fun with this one, the relationship was a little fast; but I will not said it's impossible since mine was a little like that.

Melissa in my opinion was a little crazy but she was a sweet girl, I could emphatize with her and her parents situation a little, but wao she went all wild when meeting Thunder.

and haa Thunder he was like a child so adorable, but waooo he went all semental on Melissa I was like he did what to her? and that nasty mouth really turn on people?

It was really fun and cool to hear.

Thought Provoking

I have never read or listened to a book about Cyborgs before so I was eager to see what sort of story Lisa Lace had written. In the world she has created, which is based in the USA, we do not know what year it is, what we do know is that humans have developed Cyborgs and then decide that they made a mistake.

The government form Purity Force, their sole purpose is to eradicate all cyborgs, not just rogue or damaged ones. A group of college students decide that it would be a good idea to free some of the captured cyborgs from Purity Force and with no advance planning or even a viable plan set off to do just that. Melissa is part of this band of students but she is only really there to get close to Jake, who has formed this hapless group.

Thunder is a cyborg who has only ever know what it is to be a cyborg he has no memory of his time as a human. All he remembers is going on missions and in-between being put in stasis. He is second in command of a band of cyborgs and his group also decide the time has come to stand up to Purity Force and free some of their comrades. Both Thunder and Melissa end up at the same place at the same time.

What happens next is a very well written story about love and betrayal, not just by humans but by cyborgs too. Melissa is left by her human companions in their eagerness to save themselves and is captured by Thunder.

Thunder and Melissa feel a strong attraction to each other and under the stress of their situations decide to act upon it but when the time comes for them to escape both believes the other to be dead.

The story kept my attention and was well done, what happens to both Melissa and Thunder is very thought provoking and their fight for survival and to be together is definitely well worth listening to.

I have no hesitation is recommending this one.

She finds her REAL man in a Cyborg soldier!

A very enjoyable book to listen to. A college student gets involved with a political movement in hopes of finding love with the leader who doesn't know much about love or what he is doing since he has never met a Cyborg. This book has a little bit of everything-romantic attraction & the challenge of overcoming that to do the right things – political view from a naïve youth & a hardened soldier – brotherhood loyalties – family ties – and does love win out over everything in the end? Another great book by this author that keeps you engaged and trying to figure out what is going to happen in the end.

it could have been great!

Lisa Lace has such great world creating ideas and mixes romance & action wonderfully but the number of annoying inconsistancies with her plots and character personalities keep it from being great. Such as Why was Purity able to keep our heroine locked up??? She did nothing wrong? Where was her supposedly over protective mom and dad. if my daughter was on the news, I would have been by her side pretty fast. Why was she giving Purity ANY real info about the Cyborgs??? She was suppose to be on their side. She could have made up false info because there was no way to check it. The story was still good and had a great HEA. But, I wish Lisa Lace would spend a little more time and more pages and make it great. Her story Abduction shows just how great she can make it.

Burning Metal Series Book 4 - Cyborgs Soldiers!

This is an interesting and unique series by Lisa Lace. I have read all previous books in this series and have enjoyed every single one of them. The idea of Cyborgs was introduced to me by this series and I throughly enjoyed learning about how they came to be on previous books.

Narration was good and brought the story to life.

This story was a bit different than the previous ones. Melissa is a student and has no interest in Cyborgs until she decides to join a group of Liberators. She was interested in their group leader and decided to join so she can spend time with him (fellow student). Little does she know that meeting a Cyborg would change everything.

This is a sweet science fiction romance that has some action, drama, and steamy romance.

The characters are interesting and kept me engaged from beginning to conclusion. I always enjoy the HEA conclusions.

....I can't get enough cyborgs.

Cyborgs are like the perfect mix of Alpha, troubled, hot tech man.... be still my heart. Thunder seemed so gruff.😍 I must say I wish the end, after the conflict resolution had been a bit longer.

Thunder is on a mission and he won't let anything or anyone get in the way of freeing his fellow cyborgs. What he did not anticipate is Melissa. As soon as he takes her hostage his world is flipped upside down. Suddenly he finds himself in a an unusual position. Should he stand by his cyborg brothers or enter into a new world with the one person who has made him feel again?!
