Publisher's summary

Israel successfully launches a first strike on Iran, taking out all of their nuclear sites and six of their nuclear warheads. American president William Jackson threatens to support a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the Jewish State for unprovoked and unwarranted acts of aggression. And the Twelfth Imam prepares to order a genocidal retaliation.

Meanwhile, CIA operative David Shirazi has infiltrated the Iranian regime and intercepted top secret intelligence indicating that two Iranian nuclear warheads survived the attack and have been moved to a secure and undisclosed location. In danger not only from the ongoing war between Israel and Iran but also from the increasingly hostile governments in multiple countries, Shirazi and his team are in a race against time to find the remaining nuclear warheads before the most cataclysmic event in the history of the Middle East comes to pass.

Jason Bourne meets Left Behind

This was a great conclusion to a sweeping story of intrigue, drama, biblical prophecy, international politics and romance.

A political thriller that had me up too late!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is must-read fiction that I hope never becomes reality!

What did you like best about this story?

A gripping tale of what happens to individuals who are caught in the midst of cataclysmic events, and the difference that faith in the true God can make.

What about Christopher Lane’s performance did you like?

He made it live with his accents and expression.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I practically did!

Interesting but Incomplete

This was a very good theoretical story however it left me with several unanswered questions. What happened to certain key characters, what happened to the US President in light of his less then stellar leadership etc

Great Ending

Hopefully you listened to the first 2 in the series... if not, stop reading this and download them. If you have I to say that this novel was pretty exciting to the end. It is a work of fiction but whatever you believe is going to happen in the last days it makes you think about your destination in the here after.

brilliant

brilliant characters, brilliant story, brilliant narration. it is of course biblical being about the biblical apocalypse, it is an awesome premise for the brilliant character development and narration. Christopher Lane does amazing characters, amazing accents, so consistent and believable, it adds so much to the story. maybe ended abruptly, hoping there is more to come.

Weak ending

What did you like best about Damascus Countdown? What did you like least?

intelligent blend of Biblical truth, science, and current political issues. I thought the ending was not as good as the rest of the 3 book trilogy.

If you’ve listened to books by Joel C. Rosenberg before, how does this one compare?

Not the best Rosenberg fiction. OK, entertaining, but it felt to me like the story had to end, so it did. I felt more fatigue than suspense toward the end.

A fan of Joel's works

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

For anyone interested in end time stories especially from the Biblical view this novel is highly informative and very interesting. Once I opened the book I could scarcely put it down.
It kept me on the edge of my seat unable to walk away from it . Chapter after chapter held my attention from beginning to end. I devoured it as I have done with all of Joel Rosenbergs books.

What about Christopher Lane’s performance did you like?

His portrayal of the various characters was impeccable. He made the characters come alive rather than just reading Joel's words.
