About this listen

When New York Times foreign correspondent J. B. Collins hears rumors that an al-Qaeda splinter cell has captured a cache of chemical weapons inside Syria, he knows this is a story he must pursue at all costs. Does the commander of the jihadist faction really have the weapons? If so, who is the intended target? The U.S.? Israel? Or could it be Jordan?

With tensions already high, the impending visit of the American president to the region could prove to be the spark that sets off an explosion of horrendous proportions. Knowing that terrorist forces have already toppled two regimes in the region, can Collins uncover the truth before it's too late? Or will the terrorists succeed in setting their sights on the third and final target?

What did you love best about The Third Target?

Plenty of action and true to current situation

Who was your favorite character and why?

JB, the main character although at times I wanted to slap him with the attitude that it is all about the story

What aspect of David de Vries’s performance would you have changed?

Would have preferred a different narrator, just didn't impress me, just OK

Any additional comments?

Hate when a book is continued without giving you that info upfront. Also who knows how long the next book will be available. Poor planning. Very disappointing, I do not like being left on a cliff.

What the heck, continued?

Wonderful, exciting, and relevant story. Family friendly and packed with good historical and geographical info. I was literally on the edge of my seat! Well, I play it in the kitchen while cooking, so that’s not quite accurate! My son who prefers sci fi was also glued to the story. I love the biblical references and details. I love the salvation message presented. I love that the horrors of terrorism are not glossed over. Well done!

Wow! Action packed and HUGE cliffhanger!

I wasn’t sure I would like this style of work. I was wrong. I loved it.

Riveting. I was pulled into the story quickly. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Riveting. The narration was award winning. There is a cliff hanger and a great start to the next book, The First Hostage.

I was on the edge of my seat listening to this. I have read all of Joel Rosenberg's books, each one better than the one before. This book did not disappoint, and Mr. Devries knocked it out of the park with his masterful narration! Can't wait for the sequel to this in a few months!

Phenomenal writing and brilliantly read! 5 stars!

No bad language or sex scenes. Appropriate level of violence. Super good story! Keeps you hanging until the last sentance!

Epic!

Not my favorite in this on-going saga, but moves the story along in line with the others in Rosenstein's literary arsenal. Could be Today's news. Isis, political intrigue, etc. Waiting for the punchline ...

Fast-paced, current, sequel to come...

Amazing book! I am about to go nuts wanting the next installment! I imagine you with a sly smile across your face thinking about the thousands of people that will be on the edge of their seat awaiting the next book. Well done.

Are you kidding me JCR!?!?!

One of the few books that leaves you wanting more, with many questions unanswered. Will there be a follow up story in the near future?

Non stop action

I enjoyed Joel C. Rosenberg's political thriller series years ago and am thrilled to be starting this one! Knowing it is a series, I was not surprised by the "cliffhanger" ending. I found the plot to be well thought out and executed. To me, the combat at the climax and the acts performed by several characters in those scenes were a stretch. I like where the series is going at this point though and am looking forward to the second book.

Excellent start to a new series!
