About this listen

The Rowan was one of the greatest telepaths ever born, treasured by the people she saved from alien invasion - and loved by a young man who never hoped to win her heart. In spite of his feelings, Afra remained loyal to the Rowan. He stayed by her side and helped to raise her Talented daughter, Damia.

Now, years later, Damia is a full-grown Talent of great power. Terrible alien voices echo within her mind. And a wondrous new feeling for Afra is growing within her heart.

In a universe under seige, only one thing can defeat the power of fear: the power of love.

Beautiful gift!

"Damia" is my favorite story ever. Nearly 30 years on, from my delight and amazement when I read this book as the 1st in the Tower & The Hive series. I still re-read out of order. Imagine Rowan's chagrin at being placed second to her audacious capricious daughter;) I was beyond delighted to find it & listen to it, on Audible. For me, Anne McCaffrey will always be the Grand Dame of science fiction & romance. The complicated, desolate and seemingly hopeless relationship of Damia and Afra still brings a smile(and a few tears) to a nostalgic old heart. Many many kudos to Anne's fantastic imagination and to the producers at Brilliance Audio!

Anne McCaffrey's other great series!

Anne McCaffrey continues to be able to hold the multithreads of the story in such a way as to capture the thoughts and attention of her readers.

Afra & Damia

An intriguing read of the FT&T focused on Afra and Damia. The end sets the scene for the next books.

right in the feels!

It feels as though the potentially action filled parts are glanced over in favor of character development. As usual with Annes books they are amazing and I get attached to the characters but I can't help but feel as though there could be so much more to the story.
