Loved this one!

Tim Matheson's book memoir is outstanding. it is obvious that he was trying to be truthful and to use all his experiences to teach others how to treat people well. That came over loud and clear to me. in addition, I found that it made me want to see a lot more of his TV shows and movies. I also feel like his narration makes this even more enjoyable because he speaks from the heart. Bravo TIM!

A great memoir

Sharp-eared historian types might notice some minor holes in his timeline, but overall, Matheson does a great job of relating his story. At times it was belly-laugh funny; at others, almost tear inducing. And why didn’t a trivia nerd like me not know he was the voice of Johnny Quest? His personable delivery made the story even more enjoyable and easy to digest. You can almost imagine him saying to you, “Damn glad to meet you.”Well worth the listen!

This story was amazing!

I enjoyed this because being in the industry can be challenging and sometimes difficult being a celebrity. Tim’s persistance was commendable and he pushed forward to launch his career and get work when it was offered. His love for family and marriage shows he just wanted that bond and security we all long for and few get. Being married 43 years, I’ve had my share of bad times but mostly good. Tim saw a bright future with Lizzie and that was a beautiful happy ending to his story!

Hilarious, In-Depth Story of Life in Hollywood

Absolutely stellar autobiography by longtime Hollywood actor Tim Matheson. The book is wonderfully produced, and he does an impeccable job ACTING out the part, with enough drama and humor to encompass the nuances of his life. Very few writers or actors have this kind of ability -- Matheson makes every chapter very real and poignant.

I've listened to hundreds of Audible Books in the last 10 years, but this one is in a class by itself, one of the very best I've ever heard. Superb presentation, never a dull moment, and you get the impression that Matheson himself is a good guy and a real survivor for getting through more than 60 years in the business and still having a positive attitude. His journey as a fledgling actor could be very instructive to anybody trying to break into the business, and his many inside stories are often hilarious. His ability to do voices and other characters is terrific -- somebody should hire him to do more Audible Books.

Love this. I’m not quite the author’s age, I watched him almost my whole life. Iconic character after Iconic character with all the “receipts”. Thanks Mr VP!

Otter is a great Author

One of my favorite actors turns out to be a great storyteller. As a child of the ‘70s all the way to a middle age Netflix binger Tim Matheson has been a mainstay through each stage. What a pleasure to take a trip with him through them all.

Story, Writing and Narrative Excellent

I loved Tim Matheson’s honesty as well as his writing skills. He revealed the ins and outs of Hollywood as only someone in the trenches can. I well remember’Quest’ as well as his quest appearances on other westerns. I’m looking forward to the next season of‘Virgin River’. He narrates the path he took with grace, mentioning his mistakes so that others might learn as well as describing the wonders of his profession.

Crazy life and live to talk about it

He had a chance to buy James Cagney‘s house in Los Angeles. He had a serious wide ranging career from acting to directing. He was involved in the drug culture for more than just a moment with no long-term physical disability. The third marriage seems to be working. I wonder if this marriage has a prenuptial? It would be the sensible thing to do. Probably too much of a diehard romantic. Even with a 20 year age difference. I am not sure about his politics, but I would guess he does not believe that money grows on trees.

Excellent! Just excellent

Otter was Johnny Quest!? This book was a pleasure to listen to, hard to put down, and very insightful. I enjoyed it thoroughly and was disappointed when it was over. This is a guy I really would like to meet! I have many new things to watch on Netflix now because of Tim Matheson. This is a guy I really would like to meet!
