About this listen

New York Times best seller

Greg Gutfeld wants to be your new guru, and he hates himself for it.

Before Greg Gutfeld was a Fox News star and a New York Times best-selling author, he was a self-help writer for health magazines who had no idea what he was talking about. But now, after years of experience, he finally feels qualified to guide people on the journey of life - call this book punishment for his sins and a huge reward for you!

In The Plus, Greg teaches you how to brainwash yourself into better behavior, retaining the pluses in your life and eliminating the minuses. His approach to self-help is simple and perfect for cynics; it’s not about positive thinking in the short term, it’s about positive being in the long term. With tough love and more than a little political incorrectness, he delivers sage wisdom such as:

  • If you aren’t getting happier as you’re getting older, you’re doing it wrong.
  • Resist the media’s command to expand destructive narratives.
  • If you’re in the same place you were three years ago, wake up.
  • Don’t tweet when drinking.

Modern life grows emptier and emptier as society becomes increasingly polarized, and even those who don’t subscribe to New Age beliefs are seeking comfort and meaning. In The Plus, Greg shows how skeptics too can advance themselves for the betterment of their lives and the healing of their communities.

This is the latest of Greg Gutfeld’s books and just like all the others I could not stop listening. It was smart and innovative and had me thinking and laughing through out the book. Like Greg I’m very cynical and been know to be a little negative so I’m going to try and take his advice and be a plus because well it sounds like a good idea. Bottom line this is a great book .

I’m think I’m a plus now well maybe.

Greg’s humor is only outdone by his incredible writing skills. I love everything he’s done and am planning to go back and read (listen) to his other books. This one went by too fast. His use of adjectives and twisted references kept me smiling.
His positive message is also uplifting and seems so easy even during these crazy, upside down times. It’s also great to hear him acknowledge and accept mistakes instead of doubling down like most of the media and all politicians. He tells it like it is (to me)
Highly recommend

I thought this was a fun and fairly unique take on a self-help book. Overall, its message involves looking at every situation in our lives and asking ourselves, “Am I going to be a ‘plus’ here, or am I going to be a ‘minus'?” Or, put another way, "Am I going to be positive, uplifting, and helpful, or am I going to bring everyone else down with me?"

The book covers a wide array of subjects, including some of the societal and cultural forces that have gotten us to where we are today, as a nation. The author discusses things like why social media is tearing us from one another, why loneliness drives modern politics, and why we need to stop seeing every hot-button issue as having only two [opposing] answers / solutions.

This one sure has a good amount of character and wit. I really enjoyed these aspects of it, for I think its “comedic relief” helps make some of its subjects more digestible. It’s not a life-changing book by any means, but it’s short, simple, and worth reading.

as you can tell by doing audiobook that I'm a lazy ass and I like to have it read to me rather than being tied down to each word. Greg does a great job of keeping my attention. I enjoy him on the 5 he adds spice and I also enjoy him on his own show that I watch every night it's true entertainment.

Greg is so Kool.(Just like me)

Wonderful book by Greg Gutfeld. Listened to it straight through while at work. It really was like having my own personal half day Greg Gutfeld experience. I always enjoy his insights.

Great book

After the third listen, much of Greg’s wisdom is made common. To think of the crap many students are required to read these days makes me sick. These derisive books are NEGATIVE whereas this book is POSITIVE and advances salient ways to advance practices that bring people together and aid in constructive interpersonal interaction.

OUTSTANDING! Some times the best complements are the shortest.
