Publisher's summary

In the winter of 2016, after sending her DNA to Ancestry.com to be tested, Christine Jacobsen confirmed the secret her mother had half-revealed 50 years earlier: The White man who had raised her was not her biological father. Christine was not of full Danish descent after all.

Instead, she discovered that a quarter of the blood flowing through her veins is West African. Her sense of self immediately crumbled. Who was she? Who was her biological father? Did the father who raised her, now deceased, know about this?

Her search for identity led her to a Black dancer from the Bahamas. In fact, it led her to two Black dancers - her father and grandfather. In Dancing Around the Truth, the author grapples with questions about race, her family, and a sense of belonging. It’s the story of her quest to find her ancestral roots. And it’s the story about a White woman’s reckoning with the Black part of herself.

Alright, Christine! --LynnEG

I have such admiration for Christine Jacobsen's stamina and perseverance in getting to the truth of her biological heritage. "Dancing Around the Truth" is definitely worth the read or Audible version. Nikki Zakocs is a fine narrator, hence, the 5 stars. Personally, I would have rathered that Christine had narrated her own book.
Note: This is my 1st review. Christine Jacobsen deserves recognition. Her beautiful values in life come shining through. One would be very lucky to be included in her world of people about whom she cares and loves.

Cool!

I enjoyed Christine's story of unknowingly passing before the discovery. I hope the next book would expound more of her father's story and more of her ancestors. He is apart of American history with the possibility of a great lineage of hidden stories gems.

The advocacy of racism and wokeness was unnecessary and for a short book. Her father was not perfect. He was a human being with issues.

Awesome read! you won't be disappointed.

great story! interesting and well told! also, I know the author and she's awesome.

There's a lot of stupid requirements to leave a review, like the extra words I'm writing so I can meet the minimum word requirement. They are also telling me a heading is required, which is bull****. I would write a lot more reviews if each one didn't have to be a f***ing essay.
