About this listen

Bringing together a cast of fascinating characters in a riveting tale of ambition and corruption, politics, passion, and ultimate justice, Dangerous Games is a thrilling drama from number-one New York Times best-selling author Danielle Steel.

Television correspondent Alix Phillips dodges bullets and breaks rules to bring the most important news to the world - from riots in America to protests on the streets of Tehran. With her daughter in college, and working alongside cameraman Ben Chapman, a deeply private ex-Navy SEAL, Alix revels in the risks and whirlwind pace of her work. But her latest assignment puts her at the center of an explosive story that will reshape many lives, including her own: investigating damning allegations involving the vice president of the United States, Tony Clark.

Alix starts with a nationally revered woman who may be the key to exposing frightening secrets. Olympia Foster is the fragile, reclusive widow of America's most admired senator, who had been destined for the presidency before an assassin's bullet felled him. Since then Olympia has found emotional support from Clark, who once wanted her as his wife and now stands as her protector and confidant. When Alix begins to dig deeper, federal agents pick up the trail. Then the threats begin. As the stakes rise in this dangerous game, Alix needs Ben's help as never before. And soon they realize they are grappling with an adversary far more sinister than they had imagined.

It’s Just Over

Love Danielle Steel
But this one felt unfinished... hurries at the end, just to be done with it

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Loved this book. Might have been a little disappointed that I figured out what was really happening before the characters. Lol

Just ok

Sped through some parts, like they were afterthoughts. Started fine but felt rushed from midway on.

My 1st Danielle Steel book, and maybe only…

I hate to say it, but I kept listening waiting for the good part, and it never came. The story had several sections that were repetitive. What I suppose was the big surprise of the story was so heavily foreshadowed that I found myself thinking “just get it over with already”.
It wasn’t the worst, and it was way better than I could have written, but overall it was just meh.

Repetitive

I listened to two of her books back to back. And caught myself wondering if it were the same story. I don’t understand why she seems to repeat herself over little things. I like DS books but think I’ll be taking a listening break from her books.

So slow, and pointless.

A story that just drifts along with virtually no tension, and no real point. Don’t waste your time waiting for anything to happen.

Good listen

I enjoyed the book enough. It was a bit redundant, but it had some surprising moments. The male voice was great. Every single one of the female voices did not match the character. Otherwise, it’s a good book to listen to.

The usual DS story.

This was a usual DS successful story: lots of repeating the same meanings using different phrases, gripping if not predictable - everyone ends up Happy & problems are solved.
