Publisher's summary

Fitzwilliam Darcy gets the shock of a lifetime when sparks fly and he’s neck deep in water.

Perfectly tailored, confident, and smart enough to appear the gentleman under any circumstances, Fitzwilliam Darcy loses his composure and more when a heatwave strikes Hertfordshire.

Surely, no harm would be done from a brief dip in the chalk stream… until he hears a feminine gasp.

Elizabeth Bennet knows how to make a splash. Her playful banter and refreshing demeanor is a relief in the sweltering heat, but she's a danger to Darcy's heart.

Will Darcy’s defenses melt away until he takes the most daring risk of all?

Dangerous When Wet is a light-hearted, sweet Regency romantic comedy inspired by Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice. It's novella-length and appropriate for all ages.

Hilarious!

Of course you can’t ever go wrong with Harry Frost narrating. Harry as Darcy is perfect. The story is a Darcy POV. Lots of men banter with Darcy, Fitzwilliam, Bingley and Elizabeth. Lots of laughter and silliness! Pick this one up!

Heat leads to hilarity

Loved the humor in this one!!! A heat wave sends the residents of Netherfield looking for relief and they find more than anticipated at the stream between Bingley’s estate and their neighbors at Longbourn. The interactions between Darcy and Lizzy are wonderful (always love well written banter between ODC) and the teasing between Darcy, Bingley and Richard (and slightly by Darcy’s valet) is highly entertaining. To quote Jane Austen herself If a book is well written I always find it too short!

Dangerous When Wet ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jennifer Joy has given us another perfectly crafted hilarious romantic story. It’s the exact prescription for promoting warm happy feelings.

There is lots of sweet and funny dialogue, but my favorite lines concern Darcy unintentionally treating two of our ladies to a view of his wet backside (rump). This event requires him to find a replacement rope for the Bennet’s rope swing, leading Bingley to comment: “Come, let us check the barn. I believe that is the most likely place to find a rump—er, I mean, a rope.”

Highly recommended for a jolly good time!

Just Ducky!

This novella was sooo much fun to read and listen to. Harry Frost is the perfect narrator for this book as told from Darcy’s POV. Utterly delightful! Highly recommend the audiobook. I absolutely loved it and smiled or laughed out loud the whole time. The humour and banter is simply delightful. Darcy, Richard and Bingley trying to stifle their laughter over Miss Bingley was just too good. Darcy allows his fun side to emerge and learns to laugh at himself.

Truly loved this brilliantly-written, fun-filled and lighthearted read. Zero angst, and clean and sweet. The perfect novella, and once you listen to it, you’ll understand my review’s title.

Most highly recommend.

Perfect

I first read the book and then found the Audible version narrated by Harry Frost and it was a no brainer to spend a credit. He is my favorite narrator and made an excellent book that much better. I thoroughly enjoyed this story it made me laugh and made my day.

Outlandish and hilariously fun!

The dryly humorous reading of Harry Frost adds to the comedic charm of the entire story and took my enjoyment to new levels!

Ridiculous

This centers around the Bennett sisters, along with their parents, swimming in a river next to Netherfield during a heat spell in October. Darcy and Richard Fitzwilliam join them. Number one, it is ridiculous to think there would be a heat spell so severe in England in October. Number two, it is ridiculous to imagine that the daughters of a gentleman would be allowed to swim half dressed during that era. Number three, it is ridiculous to imagine that a gentleman and his wife would welcome the Darcy, Richard and Bingley so warmly to view their daughters swimming, and in fact that the gentleman and his wife would be swimming with them also. Number four, It is ridiculous that Darcy would fall in love within ten minutes of meeting Elizabeth and knew he would not be able to live without her. I did not enjoy this plot at all because it was so out of bounds for an Austen story or the era. I will note, however, that the reader, Harry Frost, is exceptionally talented and his readings are always excellent.
