Rose McKenzie is adapting to life with the Grih, and now that the threat of war with the Tecran is over, she's hoping to settle into what passes for a normal life far from Earth and everything she knows. When she gets the chance to join an exploration team who are going down to collect information from a planet in Grihan airspace, she jumps at the chance to stretch her legs and breathe some real air.

But unknown to the Grih, someone is already on the planet, and they don't want anyone to know what they're up to. They ambush the exploration team and take them prisoner, but they don't realize they didn't get everyone. They didn't get Rose.

With her lover, Dav, and his spaceship the Barrist lured away by a distress signal, Rose and Sazo, along with a furry friend Rose has made, are the exploration team's only hope at rescue.

I loved it a short and sweet adventure with Sazo, Rose and Davh. But a portion of Ch 1 is cut off. I hope they fix it. Otherwise really good read.

Just found this author and have really enjoyed her books. My ex was English and enjoy the dialect. I have over 3500 books in my cloud library and will be glad to add to my library.

This novella is a fantastic opportunity to get more time with Rose, Dav and Sazo. MD Also introduces a intrepid little scene stealer in the form of an adorable baby animal that looks like a flying squirrel from Earth, that Rose christens Sweetpea.

Sweetpea struck me as a quirky homage to Rocky the Flying Squirrel, from the delightful cartoon series of the 1960s, Rocky and Bullwinkle.

For fans of this series, this terrific little story is not to be missed!

I adore this Class 5 space opera series. This 2-hour story lets the reader reunite with Rose McKenzie, Sazo, and Dav Jallen from Book 1. As an added bonus, Rose makes a cute new friend who is like a little flying squirrel as the group deals with a dangerous situation on the planet they are exploring. This story is best read after Book #4 in the Class 5 series.

I had previously read this in ebook format, and I was impressed with how the excellent narrator elevated the entertainment experience with her marvelous performance. She did pronounce the ship the "Barrist" differently than in the other books, but I can forgive her for that because the rest of her performance is flawless.

different pronunciations from the first book was a bit jarring especially if you listen back to back. Sweet addition of little sweetpea and a bit of action. In the first book Rose is always crying, swimming showering or sleeping, not much has changed. Wish we had more of Dav and the romance.
