Publisher's summary

Internationally acclaimed by The New York Times and USA TODAY, best-selling author of science fiction, urban fantasy, and paranormal romance brings another action, adventure, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.

Choose your treasure carefully, thief.

Drago, King of the Isle of Dragons, is the last of the magnificent dragons of the Seven Kingdoms. Bitter and alone, he abandons the emptiness of his realm and retreats to the caverns beneath the palace. In the form of his dragon, he remains hidden from the world, protecting the Dragon's Heart, the last legacy of his people - until he is disturbed by a most unlikely thief.

Carly Tate's trip to Yachats State Park takes an unexpected turn, when she is caught in a sudden storm. Seeking shelter, she stumbles through a magical doorway into a cavern filled with treasure! Yet, as incredible as the piles of glittering gold and jewels are, her gaze is transfixed by the slumbering form of a magnificent dragon.

Carly's appearance begins a series of events that will not only change Drago's life, but will affect all of the Seven Kingdoms. Can a centuries old dragon protect his most valuable treasure, or will the evil that destroyed his race take Carly from him as well?

would have enjoyed it more if ...

the narrator just voiced Drago's voice and not Carly's...a female voice would have been better. otherwise it was a sweet and spicy story!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Dragon's Treasure: A Kingdom's Tale # 1. I can't wait for the rest of the tales to be written. I so enjoy S.E. Smith's writings as she always brings her characters to life and have their love stories told!

I love dragons

Dragons are my favorite. I throughly enjoyed this audiobook. David did a great job,as always with s.e. smith stories. Just one little complaint is that he made Carlys voice sound too immature. He is great with female voices, so I still give it 5 stars.

A Fun Read!

Carley Tate decides she's going to get in shape and shed a few pounds. Instead of joining a gym she's going to hike the beautiful state park. One annual pass beats the price of a gym membership. Carly's seriously rethinking her choice as she finds out there are no convent bathrooms, but there are tons of bugs, slippery slopes, and sudden soaking storms. The last of which sends her darting into a cave where she discovers an amazing cavern filled with gold, jewels, and one beautiful dragon.

. "Choose your treasure carefully, thief." warns the dragon.

Carley's choice starts a chain of events that will effect all the seven kingdoms with the Isle of the Dragon as the main focus.

Great characters, awesome world building, with lots of adventure balanced with humor. I loved this book and can't wait to read/listen to the rest of the series.

I listened to this book on Audible. The narrartor did an outstanding job.

I wanted to love this so much, but...

Let me start this by saying that I am a big SE Smith fan. I always enjoy her books so when I found this one on audible I downloaded it right away. There was something just off on this one. Maybe it's because I never connected with the heroine - Carly. Probably because I always find it cheesy when an unaware human stumbles on a paranormal world but was always so crippling obsessed with said paranormal that they didn't function properly in the real world - in this case it's dragons. Then there's the annoyance with characters who make obviously flawed decisions. I also found Drago (a really bad name for a dragon, in my opinion) didn't quite do it for me as an alpha male. Yes, there was a certain amount of bossiness that I find endearing and in those moments he was very likable. Then there were the other times where he seemed whiney, almost. I don't hate this book, I just wanted more.

Good book.

The story is a bit slow at times and it end with many questions unanswered. this is expected because of thw need for additional books to follow. Good character development but the lead character has a fixation on her friend too much in my opinion.

The Dragon’s Treasure

I thought it was a great story, characters were well developed. My only gripe is that the female part should have been read by a female not a male imitating a female. Other than that I would definitely recommend this book!

Fabulous series!

I have fallen in love with this story! S. E. Smith has a fantastically wonderful and unique imagination of writing entertaining stories. I have been a fan of this author for sometime. Her stories are elaborate and well written. The author has a way of drawing you into the characters lives.
David Brenin has a fabulous voice and portraits both male and female voices extremely well. He has a very pleasant voice and the right amount of emotions to make you feel the characters pain and joy.
