About this listen

My enemy murdered my wife and my father, so I took his daughter...

I stole the Bratva princess and locked her away on my island. An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth. Blood for blood.

Stealing Isabella is the only way to find her father. I just wasn’t prepared for the temptation of her, nor the effect she’d have on my cold dead heart. One taste I shouldn’t have had and I wanted more. She’s my captive...my enemy’s daughter. Being with her is unthinkable.

Yet, I want to claim her, take her, own her. Make her mine. The deal was a life for a life. I’m just not sure I'll want to give her back when the time comes.

Dark Captor is the second book in the Dark Syndicate series but it can be listened to as a standalone. It's a dark mafia enemies-to-lovers romance complete with HEA and no cliffhangers.

I really like this series of books. I did not like the narrators trying to talk as the opposite sex.

Dark Captor

The book was enjoyable nothing too dark in my opinion but it’s lacking something not sure what exactly. I’m not a fan of cliffhangers and this book gives you that feeling and now we wait for book 3 ugh. The narration was kinda good I just hate when a man is trying to do a womens voice and vice a versa, it’s annoying! Worth the credit sure.

Looking forward to book 3

I was conflicted on the last book because the voice actors don’t seem to fit the characters but I’m glad I stuck it out I love the pos abusive father because I can relate to Isabella. Plus once you’re invested the voice actors aren’t so bad haha.

Tristan and Isabella turned out to be such a great couple together talk about sexy these to have it together. This story took many turns and I couldn’t put the book down. I just felt like I have to keep reading. It was very exciting. If you want danger, romance, sex, everything the stories got it, so please, read it you won’t be disappointed! This whole series is gonna be wonderful!

Disappointment

What a huge disappointment from the first book. Now I’m too afraid to continue the series because this book was just long and boring

~~ SADLY DISAPPOINTING ~~

Tristan and Isabella’s story was okay.. but it was also pretty predictable, slow going and, for me, it lacked something too as the vengeful captor slowly falls for his enemy’s daughter.. the pawn in everyone’s plans. I think Lauren’s narration was good but, even though he’s a half decent narrator, Antonio’s voice absolutely did not fit Tristan as he sounded way too old and it certainly wasn’t a voice I swooned over AT ALL. So I wasn’t hooked, only half-heartedly got invested in their HEA, became distracted easily and increased the speed to finish it. The drama came at the end when enemies betrayed and stepped forward from the shadows.. and finally things got interesting as it revealed a much larger plot that will have the brothers, The Syndicate, try to get their revenge by uncovering and taking down all the members of The Circle of Shadows piece by evil piece and reveal their masked King.

Worth a credit? It is and it isn’t.. two stars means it’s an okay listen which it was and it moves the story on, it reveals and slays a few dragons and it turns enemies into a loving husband and wife. However, the right pick of a male narrator is SO important to align with my mental images of the hero and I felt disappointed that they just didn’t fit. And I mean no disrespect to Antonio Amato but maybe Mysteries and Thrillers would be better suited.. however, this is just my opinion - you may love him and this story.. but sorry, I won’t be continuing with this series if he continues to narrate them.

3.5 Stars

I started out really into this story, but at some point, I lost that interest. Not sure what it was either, that changed for me. The story moved along at a good pace, the audiobook narration was entertaining. It just felt like it went flat towards the second half.
