Publisher's summary

Young Savannah Dubrinsky was a mistress of illusion, a world-famous magician capable of mesmerizing millions. But there was one - Gregori, the Dark One - who held her in terrifying thrall. Whose cold silver eyes and heated sensuality sent shivers of danger, of desire, down her slender spine.

With a dark magic all his own, Gregori - the implacable hunter, the legendary healer, the most powerful of Carpathian males - whispered in Savannah's mind that he was her destiny. That she had been born to save his immortal soul. And now, here in New Orleans, the hour had finally come to claim her. To make her completely his. In a ritual as old as time...and as inescapable as eternity.

Gregori is hot!

I love this book. It does have some dark elements but it's still entertaining. The characters were interesting and likable. Savannah was young, especially when compared to Gregori. Gregori is very set in his ways and figures that Savannah will conform to his ways because he is older and knows best. Gregori is wrong about that. Savannah teaches Gregori a few things that he wasn't prepared to learn but definitely needed to. I loved how the story ended. I recommend reading this book. Or listening to it! The Narrator does a good job with the audiobook.

Bright beginnings

Hard to listen to.
The reader showed no emotions no feelings. The story was ok, it fell flat in areas.
I liked reading the book better.

Repetitive but still enjoyable.

I like this series, but at this point I heard certain phrases so many times it's driving me a little crazy. For this book, if I had to hear about Gregori's eyes becoming like molten mercury one more time i was gonna lose it - Even this phrase from a human male's description. I like the books because i want to follow the story, action, and characters, and so I feel I tolerate the writing. If this changes in future books, I'll be tickled. / Also, the narrator is good, I enjoy a male narrator for these books, enjoyed the cajun accent. Saying 'Gregory' vs 'Gregori' was annoying, but tolerable.

Dark Magic is Magic

I have always loved this story. The introduction of Gary a big favorite of many of the Dark readers, it's interesting to see how far he comes in the later stories. Savannah is a true Carpathian woman and at just a fledgling the things she can do is astounding. I love how she knows his fears from pretty much the beginning that he manipulated the outcome of her to be his lifemate, and how she handles this. It amazes me that the big bad Gregori can be so sensitive when it comes to Savannah. I am a little irritated at the mispronouncioun of Gregori's name but it doesn't take away from the story. It also makes me so happy that both are a major part of the storyline throughout the entire series.

Narrator is Monotone Awesome Story

The Narrator plain and simple did not get it. He was completely monotonous and did absolutely zero Justice for any character. Like a Robot. Especially for the most anticipated Book. Very Disappointed. Author should have it pulled and re-done.
