About this listen

When Will Cochrane encounters a Russian spymaster codenamed Antaeus, who everyone believes is dead, he is thrust into a deadly game set in motion by powerful players deep inside the intelligence community. His orders from Langley are clear: Antaeus must not be touched. Further inquiries require project ferryman clearance. But Will decides to take his own shot at the spymaster, knowing it will make him a marked man.

Now the only way to save his career - and his life - is to get into the US and expose the truth about Project Ferryman. But to accomplish that, he's got to outmaneuver deadly Russian assassins and an elite FBI team controlled by shadowy officials who will stop at nothing to keep their sins and secrets safe.

Critic reviews

"Another deep and intense thriller that feels authentic in terms of how it conveys the spy world.... Dunn has crafted another winner in this fine series. The world of spy fiction has a writer who deserves comparison to Ludlum and Fleming." (Booklist)
"Just when you think you have this maze of double-dealing figured out-surprise, it isn't what you think. All the elements of a classic espionage story are here. The novel moves with relentless momentum, scattering bodies in its wake." ( Kirkus Reviews)

If you like the Spy Catcher series, you will like this installment. Fast paced, well narrated and keeps you interested. I don't know what took so long to get it to Audible however. Hopefully we will not be plagued by that in the future. If you like spy novels, this one should be right up your alley...

I have read each book in the series and this is by far the best. I was engaged from the beginning and unlike most books, did not see the surprise twist coming at the end. Very enjoyable.

Best to Date

The Spy Catcher series just keep getting better. I found this one the most suspenseful of all and fastest paced. Even though I missed appearances by Lathe and Roger, Emma turned out to be a wonderful new character, however brief her appearance. This was actually my second listen I just finished.

Best In the Series Yet

One of the best books I’ve ever listened to. Read them in order and enjoy

Incredible

While we wait for the next Bourne Identity, Tinker, Tailor etc, I think this is a nice pastime.

Good character depth, good physical action, and good personal material.

A nice book! Recently, I've enjoyed David Ignacious' work which I also like. This is slightly more classic in style.

Recommended.

Intelligent and well written enough

Dark Spy's is a great thriller and keeps you in suspense right up until the end. Dunn raises the bar for all others to follow with strong characters and a plot that leads to a conclusion that will surprise all. A great read/listen and Rich Orlow brings it all to life with his usual great talent.
