About this listen

This much-loved novel was, by Dickens' own admission, his 'favorite child'. It is easy to see why, with its colorful characters ranging from the repulsive Uriah Heep to the endlessly improvident Micawbers, and dominated throughout by the moving story of David's search for a family and a home.

Absolutely love Mr. Lesser’s narration of Dickens. Not only Copperfield but his other narrations too. He keeps Dickens alive and relevant. His sensitivity of language blooms Dickens’ words pointing to our human condition and character regardless of the century.
Cannot recommend enough.

Love Dickens and Lesser

There is no one I know who can do justice to Charles Dickens novels like Anton Lesser. Every character is brought to life. He is such a remarkable narrator and actor. I’m not willing to listen to anyone else’s voice for Dickens other than Anton. You won’t be disappointed if you want to be introduced to Dickens novels through him.

Wonderful reading
