"We are the people our parents warned us about" is the motto of the Bandidos, one of the world's most feared outlaw motorcycle gangs. For ten years, Steve Utah was a Bandidos insider. He arranged the security of their clubhouses. He 'cooked' ecstasy and ice for them. He was at meetings where interstate and overseas drug and weapons smuggling was planned. He saw stolen military weapons being sold. He witnessed vicious beatings, helped dump corpses. He saw men executed in front of him. It all became too much and, in an attempt to regain control of his life, Utah resorted to the unthinkable: he rolled over to the Federal Police and told them all he knew about the Bandidos.
This shocking, unflinching, tragic story is Steve Utah's confession. He knows he is a dead man running - that inevitably the Bandido code will be honoured and he will be silenced. But not before Utah gets his chance to wake Australians to the looming threat in their midst - the relentless rise of sophisticated organised crime networks inside outlaw motorcycle gangs and the apparent inability of the Police and legal system to deal with it.

What made the experience of listening to Dead Man Running the most enjoyable?
The readers voice.Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Not really but i don't think this book was meant to like that. But the subject keeps you on the edge of your seat all by itselfHave you listened to any of Michael Carman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No not yet but i will be in the future thats for sure. Michael has one of those voices that would suit many styles of books. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes for sure. Luckily i was able to do that.Any additional comments?
Just a great book with a very clear in look at the bikie world not only here in Australia but the world over. Even if your not into bikie books it is still a eye opener which will make you see things in a different light.Scary, dark, true crime = must listen

Who was your favorite character and why?
Steve Utah, he's the real deal and the Aussie Feds screw him over big time. When he gets beat within an inch of his life it's like, "Have a good day mate" and "Deal? What Deal?".Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It wasn't that good, not bad but parts became a history lesson.Any additional comments?
Nice look at outlaw motorcycle gangs and their crimes around the globe. It's too bad this wasn't written by Steve Utah himself. Lots of Steve Utah quotes, but something is lost in translation when it doesn't come out of your own mouth.Murder and Mahem
