About this listen

From number-one New York Times best-selling author Jerry B. Jenkins comes a heart-stopping adventure of historical proportions.

Nicole Berman is an archaeologist on the brink of a world-changing discovery. During her first dig in Jordan, she believes she has found concrete evidence of a biblical patriarch that could change history books forever. But someone doesn't want the truth revealed. While urgently trying to connect pieces of an ancient puzzle, a dangerous enemy is out to stop her.

"From a criminal investigation in Manhattan to the birth of Abram in ancient Ur, Jerry Jenkins weaves together a tale of drama and suspense that will draw you into the lives of two families separated by 4,000 years of history yet sharing remarkably similar struggles of faith. Dead Sea Rising combines the thrill of a whodunit with the moral and political intrigue of the ancient, and modern, Middle East. But be prepared. Once you begin, you won't be able to stop until you reach the final page!" (Dr. Charlie Dyer, Professor-At-Large of Bible, and host of The Land and the Book radio program)

"If you love history - especially biblical history - this is a fun and fascinating read!" (Joni Eareckson Tada, Joni and Friends International Disability Center)

"Jerry Jenkins' dialogue is equal to the best of Nelson DeMille, his storylines equal to the best of John Grisham. And now Dead Sea Rising... this book may be Jerry's best." (Andy Andrews, New York Times best-selling author of The Traveler's Gift and The Noticer)

"Jumping back and forth in time at a breakneck pace, Dead Sea Rising is a thriller as only Jerry B. Jenkins can tell it. Biblical history combines with gripping contemporary mystery. Just be aware - you'll be hooked." (James Scott Bell, international thriller writers award winner)

Confusing

Finished book but have no clue how these two stories have anything to do with each other?? Is there going to be a sequel? I kept thinking somehow something would bring them together - disappointed when it ended - don’t know how to rate

Ended abruptly

While I thoroughly enjoyed the story, it ended without a resolution or a connection between the two timelines. I hope there will be a sequel.

The biblical references

This story builds up and keeps you interested, yet the end did not really connect the two stories as I anticipated. The separate stories were very interesting yet I was confused why there were told simultaneously

Well done, as always

Jerry Jenkins does a brilliant job combining three stories into one book. looking forward to seeing if Book 2 is out. I'm assuming there will be a book to but I don't know that for sure.

I Can't Wait for Book 2 this is going to be great!

This New Book Series is going to be the best book series since Left Behind by Jerry B Jenkins. I'm so glad I brought this fantastic book. I didn't ever want the book to end. sadly all good things must come to a end.

Only good if this is Volume 1

As noted by other reviewers, this book just ends very abruptly, there is no appropriate wrap-up or even an obvious cliff-hanger hand off to a future book. Both threads just end without any connection and no indication of a later conclusion. My ratings are based on the unfounded assumption that this is the first of a series. If this is the whole story then I would not recommend it.

Excellent Reader!

It is a nice mix of the modern world and Biblical fiction, but has an unsatisfying completion.

Unsatisfying End - Wait to buy until 2021

Don't buy this until after the second book comes out at the end of 2020.
I'm usually a big fan of J.B. Jenkins books. This book started in his usual style, but just as the story begins to become interesting, it ends. No conclusion to anything. Apparently it is a prequel of sorts for a book that will not come out until Nov 2020. Unfortunately this book didn't leave me eagerly anticipating the next book, it left me annoyed at the abrupt ending with no satisfactory wrap up.

Just the beginning

My father lives in another state and we both wanted to listen to something together. He’s hooked, as am I. We found the book reeling us in with every chapter, inviting us with its mysteriousness, character and heart, and intriguing us with intricate stories woven between different times. We recommend this book, and only warn that you’ll be chomping at the bit for the next release. - E.J.R.
