About this listen

Deadeye Dick is Kurt Vonnegut's funny, chillingly satirical look at the death of innocence. Amid a true Vonnegutian host of horrors - a double murder, a fatal dose of radioactivity, a decapitation, an annihilation of a city by a neutron bomb - Rudy Waltz, aka Deadeye Dick, takes us along on a zany search for absolution and happiness. Here is a tale of crime and punishment that makes us rethink what we believe...and who we say we are.

Very Enjoyable!

This is the story of a severely dysfunctional family. Told in an original style of writing by Kurt Vonnegut from the youngest sons point of view.
Very enjoyable.

Someday your peephole is gonna be closed for good.

If you really get a good chuckle out of our lethal ineptitudes presented as dour absurdity, why, then, you are in for a screaming good time. This interminable screed of self-sabotage, droning mediocrity, misery and accidental murders will have you rolling on the floor and roaring with paroxysms of uncontrollable belly laughs. Or something.

much ado about nothing

This a story about a boring man's monolog. It's well told and some interesting things happen, but the core character is understandably apathetic.

Word Artist

Story excellent and could only improve if reread. Narrator seemed inappropriate to read Kurt. Inflections sped over. Mortal sin

Genial, aunque Vonnegut tiene otros mejores

Me encantó. Sin duda otra obra maestra de Vonnegut, y aunque creo hay otros mejores, lo recomiendo muchísimo porque es una brillante muestra de narración, de escritura hermosa y muy creativa.

Not vonneguts best work

Still great, still worth a read for any fan of Kurt, but I thought the story dragged a bit, especially the end

Excellent narration of a great story!!

Sean Runnette's narration was Perfect! I'm not sure why some people felt otherwise. I enjoyed this audiobook thoroughly and I deeply relate to all things Vonnegut. 😭☺💔💖

Don't bring me down. No, no, no, no, no.

If you really get a good chuckle out of the lethal ineptitudes to which people are subject, then you are in for a Royal treat. This interminable screed of self-sabotage and misery and accidental murders will have you rolling on the floor and roaring with paroxysms of uncontrollable belly laughs. Or something.
