About this listen
Just when you thought it was safe to cruise again....
PC Rachel Prince returns to cruising after giving evidence in a difficult trial. She wants to recharge her batteries and reevaluate her future after receiving threats from the man she helped put away.
Taking Queen cruises up on their offer of a free luxury cruise aboard the Coral Queen, she opts for a sailing to New York.
Rachel's best friend and cruise nurse, Sarah is also returning to the ship to start a new nine-month contract so the timing is perfect.
Almost immediately, Rachel meets a cruise tour leader who invites her to join him and his Russian group for some of their planned activities. These activities should help pass the time during the sea days.
A crew member is found dead in his cabin - could this be another mystery brewing? Rachel's eagle eye spots some curious goings on among the Russian tour group that she finds enticing. Chief Security Officer Waverley wants Rachel to leave things alone - will she listen?
Sarah has problems of her own as conflict develops in the medical team when a new nurse is brought in at short notice.
Rachel can't resist doing a bit of snooping, but will she get to the bottom of a mysterious death and untangle this complex case before they reach New York?

But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Deadly Cruise
Dawn Brookes has made me a fan of Rachel Prince. I love the imagery she writes in this cozy mystery series, the twists and turns, the unexpected culprit. I love it when I do not guess the correct suspect!. Alex Lee was wonderful performing this book! I could hear exactly who was speaking. I loved how she gave the various characters distinguishable voices and accents. The book is both part of a series and a standalone listen. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Another fantastic story in the life of Rachel Prince!
Rachel Prince is off on a much needed vacation, after a run-in with a thug and the ensuing court case. She is using her ‘freebie’ for another cruise on the ship where her bff, Sara, is a nurse. But wouldn’t you know it, day 1 on the cruise and a crew member is dead under suspicious circumstances, and then a Russian passenger. Can Rachel use her sleuthing skills to catch a killer? Lots of plot twists and turns that will keep you guessing...including a Russian group that’s acting suspiciously. One thing’s for sure...you will never guess who’s behind the murders. Another ‘sit on the edge of your seat’ story with excellent narration. Definitely a must read-listen if you love murder mysteries.
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another great Rachel Prince cozy mystery!
I listened to the audio version of this book.
This is a great cozy mystery. I'm almost hesitant to call it a cozy mystery because there was so much going on in this story. Because it takes place on a cruise ship, there were naturally lots of people from different countries and lots of accents. I actually had a bit of a hard time keeping track of everyone and who was who--especially the large Russian group of passengers.
The mystery was full of twists and turns and was fairly unpredictable. It was fast paced and really kept my brain working to try to figure out what was actually going on. Although I did eventually figure out the how and thought I knew the who, I had absolutely no clue as to how the two fit together.
Great job on the story by Ms. Brookes and great job on the narration by Alex Lee. The narration had to be very challenging.
I was given a complimentary copy of this audiobook. All thoughts are my own.

A fine read!
cruise-ship, cosy-mystery, suspense, law-enforcement, murder-investigation
Excellent! Beginning with unusual problem in her normal job in law enforcement, moving to what should have been a relaxing cruise ship Atlantic crossing with her good friend Sarah (even though Sarah is one of the nurses on duty), Rachel finds herself an unofficial investigator into several murders and attempted murder once again. Great buildup of suspense, plot twists, and red herrings make this a really great read!
Once again Alex Lee gives a fine audio performance!

Lots of fun!!!
This was such a fun story! The characters were very likable and the setting aboard the cruise ship was just the escapism I needed right now. I was kept guessing til the very end. The narrator did a great job and pulled me right into the story. Looking forward to listening to more in this series!

2nd bk also good. Will go for #3
I enjoyed this book almost as much as book though, oddly, the narrator did not work for me this time as well as s/he did for book 1. Accents felt a little less accurate, and the overall voicing was... thicker? Can’t figure out how to describe it. Not awful, just not as good as I’d enjoyed in the previous book.
The story was interesting, easy to follow, and kept me engaged even while having a very worrisome day waiting to see if I have covid!
