About this listen

Secrets can be deadly in this college supernatural thriller. Taria and Michael attend Morrison State University where Taria is in her last year of college studying investigative journalism. As her and Michael’s relationship flourishes; strange and unusual circumstances ensue resulting in mysterious and horrible deaths around campus. As the race against time begins to find the person behind all the carnage and blood-lust, unbeknownst to Taria there is more to Michael than meets the eye. Her best friend LaToya who is studying fashion photography is dating Quinn whose aloof nature is a bit out of the ordinary to some. The plethora of local missing person’s cases sparks Taria’s suspicions as she begins to investigate what is happening. Who is committing these murders and why? As the clues become more intense and revealing; the danger is around every corner ready to pounce. Can what you don’t know truly hurt you?

This cat and mouse game of “who dun it” will take you on a heart-stopping jaw-dropping, nonstop ride of romance, murder, and a peek behind the thin veil of the paranormal world.

I really enjoyed the book. I am now listening to the series. I wish they had a male narrator. Overall, I am enjoying the series💕💘😊❤

Good but Childish Females

I was undecided about purchasing this book for awhile but finally decided to go for it. I had 3 issues with this book.

1.) "Damn" was said at least once every sentence
2.) The narrator was great, but too tenured to narrate this book
3.) The 2 female leads in this book are stupid

At times, I felt like the narrator was my mother trying to read the part of young ladies and she didn't exactly understand slang that was used in this book. Like I said earlier, "Damn" is used A LOT but the way the narrator emphasized the word each time she said it made it worse. At times it was hilarious. I'm surprised the editor of the book didn't catch how many times the word was actually used in the book and removed some of them.

I really liked the story but both ladies were dumb. If your ex was calling almost 10x a day, why not just change your number, if it's bothering you that much? Also, they know a vampire is hunting them, why are they giving the guys such a hard time about protecting them? I understand that they want to resume their normal lives but come on the arguments they kept having with the guys got stupid towards the end of the book.

I really like Quinn and Latoya and look forward to hearing more about them.

I think some of the reviews overhyped this book but if you like paranormal books I think you'll like this book. I plan on finishing the series but I will move on to other books on my wishlist and circle back to this series.

Enjoyed the book, But….

I enjoyed the writing of the book as well as this author. I did not care too much for the person reading the book. It took me about 4 tries to listen to this book because of it. I like to read but I thought I would try audible books.

Ok. That's all

I like the story. I hated the narrator. I wish there was a male voice also. I'm going to listen to the story because I love the genre, but I I'm glad the next books doesn't have the same narrator.

Great Story-Change the Narrator

"Damn!" LOL! I love the genre of African American Paranormal Romance! We need more books and series like it! I love the first book!

The narrator sounds like an older white woman and just doesn't match the characters. Just a fact. Please choose a narrator who is black or least sounds black/urban. This is a performance and it should sound realistic. Also, having a black male narrate the male voice would make this Audible series all the better.

COULDN'T FINISH

The narrator was throwing me off. The voice doesn't match the age bracket. If that's the nicer way of saying it. Sorry

Hard to finish

If I never here the word Damn again it’ll be too soon. I was very disappointed in this purchase. From the way the story was written to the narrator chosen for this book. It was all bad. I won’t be listening to the next book.
