About this listen

After hairdresser Daisy Thorne finds her missing scissors in a customer's back, she becomes the prime suspect in a murder....

When Ooh La La regular Mel Haverstock left the hair salon that morning, no one expected it would be her final parting. But when Daisy closes shop Saturday night, she finds her client dead as the mullet cut. Homicide is back in style in the quiet village of Edgemead in Surrey, England. But who would want to harm a hair on poor Mel's head?

Suspicions higher than a beehive pile on Daisy when it's revealed that she and Mel had tangled back in high school, and DNA evidence seems to color her guilty. Handsome DCI Paul McGuinness gives the hairstylist new accessories - a lovely pair of silver handcuffs. To clear her name, Daisy must highlight the real backstabber, or she'll end up shaving heads in the prison barbershop.

I love the reader and the mystery!

Pearl Hewitt is the best reader I have ever listen to. I would listen to any book if Pearl was reading it. She is amazing.
The mystery, Death at the Salon is every bit as good if not better than Death at a Country Mansion. Very intriguing story line with humor and romance all rolled up in a delightful book. Fun to listen to cant put the book down. I am anxiously awaiting the Christmas mystery by Louise Innes to come out in audibles.

Lots of twist & turns

I’ve enjoyed listening to book one and two. It is a light listen that’s very entertaining. Good for a short listen like a road trip or a day at the beach maybe even a rainy day. Looking forward to book 3

Okay storyline

I disliked the lack of depth and consistency in the storylines. I love Pearl Hewitt, but hearing the storyline state that Floria is a half sibling of her “sisters” when the first book cleared this up leaves me disheartened. This series has a lot of potential with its lovable characters, but I would love to see more character depth and development in a positive way versus negative mindset shifts. All in all it’s an okay way to pass the time.
