About this listen

A full-cast BBC Radio 4 dramatisation of an Agatha Christie story. On a flight from Le Bourget to Croydon, on which Hercule Poirot is an apprehensive passenger, a woman is found dead. A doctor on board is inclined to put it down to a wasp-sting, but Poirot suspects that a poisoned dart is the real cause - and, perhaps rather too conveniently, a blow pipe is discovered stuffed down the back of his seat.

Clearly, the murder can only have been committed by one of the passengers or crew on the plane. But which one? Poirot, Japp, and M. Fournier of the Surete will make their way through shoals of red herrings before reaching an utterly unexpected conclusion.

Perfect.

Moffatt’s Poirot is superlative, and it’s great fun for longtime Agatha Christie fan’s that Philip Jackson is Inspector Japp on audios with one Poirot in addition to his run as Japp with David Suchet’s Poirit on telly. — The adaptation is on-point, and performances are top-notch all around. 10/10

Great Listen

This story really was amazing. I never caught on to who the murder was and the further into the story it got the more I enjoyed it and felt the intensity to it. Great performance and wonderful book.

I'm in heaven... with a Death in the Clouds! :)

Would you consider the audio edition of Death in the Clouds (Dramatised) to be better than the print version?

The book and this drama are equally excellent. It is one of my favorite Agatha Christie stories. The actors' portrayals really bring this story to life!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Death in the Clouds (Dramatised)?

Towards the end, I laughed at Inspector Japp's quips just as Hercule Poirot began his summation. It was very brief, but definitely memorable!

What does John Moffatt and full cast bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

John Moffat, Philip Jackson, and this cast are wonderful. It is a great pleasure to hear the actors portray the characters in this story. John Moffatt's Poirot is spot-on, and I love that Philip Jackson, who played Inspector Japp in the David Suchet BBC Poirot series, also plays the same character in this BBC Radio 4 drama. He is an excellent actor! Both Moffatt and Jackson deliver their lines perfectly!

Any additional comments?

I just purchased several Audible Agatha Christie BBC Radio 4 dramas. This was the first one I chose to listen to, and I can't wait to start the next. I highly recommend this audiobook!

Outstanding Full-Cast Audio Production

What did you love best about Death in the Clouds (Dramatised)?

I like the full-cast of voices and the sound effects in the background. I really like John Moffat as Poirot. Everyone read their parts well. This was a totally enjoyable listen as are all of the Agatha Christie BBC full-cast radio dramatizations.
