About this listen

Innocent or guilty?

When Rose Denison accepted a job in her hometown, which she'd never planned returning to, she didn't expect her new employer to turn up dead. Nor for her to become the only eyewitness and sole suspect of his murder. As the town pushes for a speedy trial to preserve its reputation, one person isn't convinced that she did it - David Kings Jr., the victim's son. And the only man who ever said he loved her. With time running out, everyone wants to know: is Rose innocent or guilty? But there was a huge problem. She couldn't remember what happened.

This was the first book we tried by this author and unfortunately we were disappointed. It started out very good and it had so much potential. But honestly, it was disjointed, characters were not developed, large time gaps, no relationship development to have you feel or engage with characters. We never even knew how the murder victim died ... too much missing. Glad we only invested 2.5 hours. Don’t think we’ll try another Joy Ohagwu novel. Narrator was good.

The story was choppy and the vocabulary was not always used correctly. Poorly written. I will not buy any more by this author.
