Hidden away from society by his criminal father, there lives a man who has never entered the outside world. Now, having taken over his father's business, he has all the money and power he could dream of, yet still he refuses to let himself be viewed by the rest of society.
Traumatised by an event in her past, Lily Drayton has a phobia of being touched. Though she helps people externally with her skills as a laser therapist, she refuses to let anyone in, emotionally or physically. When Lily is kidnapped on the way home from work one evening, she discovers she's not the only person who keeps themselves cut off from the rest of the world.
A man owns her now - a man both dangerous and enigmatic. Drawn by his dual beauty and hidden pain, he awakens something inside her, something she believed was long dead. Brought to a room without windows, she's given an impossible task: to make her owner acceptable to the outside world.
Can altering his face change who he is as a man, or is he truly a monster, both inside and out?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend to anyone who likes dark romances - it was hard for me at times to hear some of the abuse the characters go through so I would add a warning to those who don't like themes of kidnapping and abuseWho was your favorite character and why?
I liked Lily and the anti-hero Monster. They were both troubled complex souls.Have you listened to any of Artie Rose’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the very first audio book I've ever listened to. I feel like Artie's narration got better and better as the book went on. In the end I felt like my friend was reading it out to me. I was sad when it finished! Artie was very good at giving the characters voices without overdoing it.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moments when we went through what happened in Monster's childhood to make him who he is today. It's so sad.Any additional comments?
I really loved this audio book experience. I was worried how I'd find time to listen but when the story grips as much as this one, I listened while walking, cleaning, waiting on the bus, on the bus! Everywhere. It was a very dark book. Not what I'm used to but I know it will stay for me for a long time. Excellent by Marissa Farrar.Audio book - new format for me - dark but fab

I listened to this wonderful story on audio. It’s my first time listening to Artie Rose. She did great. Her different voices really added to my enjoyment to this story.
