About this listen

Welcome to Ambleton, a lovely coastal town full of charm, character, and gratuitous violence. Dr. Adam Monk has perfected his virus for the military which can reanimate the dead. Joseph Bishop was diagnosed with a violent form of Delirium as a child, but even as a child he loved the sensation as the Delirium surged through his body. He never wanted it to be cured. Two local drug addicts attempt a robbery in Joseph's store and he deals with them in his own unique way. A letter found in one of the drug addict's pockets starts a violent series of murders and Joseph's escape from a police raid unleashes the walking dead.

Joseph Bishop decides to leave his Kill Room, but first he has to deal with Carl and Simon. Bethany and Alice Meagan find themselves cornered in the alleyway behind Joseph's store and have to fight their way back inside, only to be confronted by two more walking dead. Can Bethany and Alice get to their severely injured mother or will someone beat them to her? Delirium takes you into the mind of both the living and the dead.

Who will survive as the town descends into mayhem?

This is a graphic adult Horror-Action-Urban Zombie Fantasy, which will draw you into the heart pounding violence, as it explodes around you.

Delirium will stay with you long after the final dramatic scene.

Horror at it's BEST!!! Awesome Narration!!!

Where does Delirium rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

By far my best horror audiobook so far. I couldn't stop listening to it. John Stearn is an author to watch. A future star writer. Please follow his career.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Joseph Bishop creepy since birth. I love him.

What does William Bill Word bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

That voice is sexy. He keeps the story moving. William makes me feel I am actually there in Ambleton

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wanted to cringe many times. That's good horror.

Story has unrealized potential

The narrator sounds like they pulled a guy off the street and he is reading the book for the first time. Seriously. I think I could do better. Another issue is the story is set in the USA but all the characters use British terminology. Well, bollocks! The boot instead of trunk etc. over all. I don't regret getting the book. I would like to see this author tighten up his action scenes and get a new narrator. I'd try another story by him.

Bad performance, mediocre story

I will admit first off, that I have not been able to listen to the entirety of this story. (I listened for about four hours worth, before officially closing the Audible app on this particular book)

The gentleman reading the story seemed amateurish, he hurried through the book, missed punctuations, and didn't change his voice to meet the different characters personalities.

His reading could be the main reason I am not willing to give this story a chance at the moment, but I am also finding it difficult to follow story lines throughout the book.

There is something about a family history of cannibalism, a man who has rage issues (and I think is the town murderer) and way too many gratuitous sexual descriptions (as if the writer just felt trying his hand at writing some detailed masturbation scenes, because it was his book and he could ...)
...and also somewhere around the beginning, I think there was a scientist testing with a zombie type virus - though so far I haven't heard anything about it again.

I may try listening to it again at a future date, but from what I have read so far I wouldn't recommend it.

Decent idea...poor execution

I really hate to be negative but there is nothing really anything positive to say about this book. The writing was a. it redundant and the narrator made it worse. I think the plot idea had promise and missed some opportunities in the writing.

The narrator seemed like he was reading this for the first time like a rough draft.

I would not recommend this book.
