About this listen

John Edward Robinson was a 56-year-old grandfather from rural Kansas. An entrepreneur and Eagle Scout, he was even honored as "Man of the Year" at a Kansas City charity. To some of the women he met on the internet, he was known as Slavemaster - a sexual deviate with a taste for sadomasochistic rituals of extreme domination and torture...even killing.

Masquerading as a philanthropist, he promised women money and adventure. For 15 years, he trawled the web, snaring unsuspecting women. They were never seen again. But in the summer of 2000, the decomposed remains of two women were discovered in barrels on Robinson's farm, and three other bodies were found in storage units. Yet the depths of Robinson's bloodlust didn't end there. For authorities, the unspeakable criminal trail of Slavemaster was just beginning....

Depraved is a true story of sadistic murder in the Heartland, told by true-crime master John Glatt.

Always Love Glatt - Always a Horrible Narrator

Glatt has a trusted, golden approach to executing raw, macabre facts into a wonderfully woven story. I will never understand why he mars and diminishes his beautiful talent by using the same disinterested, emotionless ogre as his narrator.

Did not like

This was insufferable, and I don’t know if I’ve ever used that description to equate to such a waste of time. Is there a way to return the book for a credit? If there is, I have a couple of others that stunk too.

Not my favorite by Glatt

I wasn’t fond of the organization of this story, but have loved many other stories by this author. Narration was quite flat.

I do not recommend at all

The biggest thing about this audio book that I really disliked is it takes place in the United States. The narrator is I believe from Australia. His voice does not match the characters in the book at all. In fact all of the characters were born and raised in places like Kansas and Chicago. I got about half way through the story and just couldn't listen to it anymore. I definitely do not recommend. what a waste of credits.
