About this listen

Hot hockey superstar Brent Oliver has it all--good looks, charm, dozens of endorsement deals, and a spectacular career.

Uh, nix that last one.

Brent has the talent and skill that should have his career soaring. But something is wrong. He's lost his hockey mojo and can't get it back.

Enter Aubrey Shelburne, life coach to the stars.

Aubrey's worked with some difficult celebrities, but she's never encountered a guy quite like Brent Oliver.

Or has she?

Seems a reckless night of partying, one that had Aubrey waking up in a strange man's bed, is about to bite her in the a**. That is, if Brent doesn't first.

Fighting an off-the-charts attraction, Aubrey and Brent must learn to work together. But it's not an easy task when they're at each other's throats every minute.

Is this relationship a disaster in the making?

Or is it destiny?

Washboard abs and sex toy mishaps aside, Destiny on Ice is a fun and irreverent romp that'll have you swooning on one page and laughing on the next.

First off Tracy Marks is one of my favorite narrators and is the bomb💥 She brings the characters to life, male or female, in a realistic way. This story had a major challenge, the heroine, it must be a personal preference that I don't enjoy or relate to female characters who hide insecurities behind anger. If she is truly a life coach and that great at her job then I am pretty sure she would have had more leadership skills. I struggled with finishing but I would always for the narration alone.

Great start to a series. This was a pleasant surprise. I was really looking forward to it and was not disappointed at all. It was a fun, well written, humorous, steamy and very entertaining story. It's one of those stories that pulls you in from the first sentence and never lets go. I stayed up late finishing the book just because I didn't want to stop listening. It's just a really good story with fantastic narration.

Great cast of well rounded characters. Both Aubrey and Brent were immediately likable. The conversation's between them were hilarious at times. It will have you laughing out loud. Just wait for the whole Area 51. Keep your ear buds in it gets pretty steamy at times.

This is the first book by S.R. Grey that I have read but it definitley won't be my last. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Tracy Marks once again does a fantastic job with the narration. She has one of those voices that just pulls you into a story. Love listening to any book she narrates. Her character voices are great and accents. Both male and female. It's always clear which character is speaking. Clearly spoken with a nice smooth pace. Perfect tone and delivery of the humor. She gives the characters a personality and makes them come to life.

I'm still a bit on the fence about this book. I did enjoy the story, but I felt that not enough was going on. The narration was very good and some moments were so funny I felt I was actually standing there witnessing Aubrey's silliness.

So I had a hard time liking the male heroine Brent Oliver at first because when he's introduced he's being a manwhore who throws countless parties and sleeps with all kinds of woman and is always drunk. On top of that he drags on his two teammates as well. When Aubrey is hired as his life coach to get him focused on hockey, he begins to slowly turn himself around. Brent and Aubrey begin a secret relationship so quick that not much else made this book exciting except for them possibly being discovered.

There are things to like about the story, but I needed something more. So the story was just ok. The narration was very good. Tracy Marks did a outstanding job as Aubrey and Brent. I would definitely listen to other books she narrates.

So 5 stars for the narration and 3 stars for the story.

What did you love best about Destiny on Ice?

The humor! This was a very funny sports rom com that had some truly laugh out loud moments!

What other book might you compare Destiny on Ice to and why?

I think Destiny on Ice is similar to Serena Bowen and Elle Kennedy's WAGs series. It's part sports romance and part romantic comedy.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene where the team was in Chicago for a game and Brent overheard Aubrey's phone call. Brent trying to figure out who Al was and his explanations for the role Al played in Aubrey and her sister's lives was hilarious! I had the same reaction as Aubrey when the truth was revealed!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I definitely laughed a lot! No tears though, since it was a pretty lighthearted and easy story. Probably the most emotional part had to do with Brent's family, rather than his relationship with Aubrey.

Any additional comments?

I normally really enjoy Tracy Marks narration, but this time I wasn't a huge fan of her male voices. There was just something off about the tone for me. It almost felt like she was trying too hard to make her voice masculine/deep. It didn't detract from the story, but I definitely preferred her Aubrey chapters.

Team Braubrey!
