About this listen

Elijah Rable rides into Destitution looking for some fun but ends up with a badge on his chest, a price on his head, and two women vying for his heart.

Destitution is just a miserable little frontier town in the middle of nowhere. So why is the air thick with fear and greed? And why are its most powerful citizens hiring gunslingers?

Joined by a female sharpshooter with more grit than a sandstorm, Rable gets busy trying to solve the mystery. But he’d better be quick if he wants to stop the war, save the folks counting on him, and get out of Destitution alive.

From the bestselling author of the Silent Justice series, Destitution is a classic Western with a touch of romance.

DESTITUTION

This is an excellent western. Rable takes the Marshalls job in Destitution. This is a mystery western. Rable hires a female deputy. Together they made the book good. It's them against the town council that's got some shady things going on. They all want to run the town. This book is easy to follow. Johnny Heller does a great job narrating this book. Johnny Heller best Narrator by Far!

Chose because Johnny Heller was the narrator and I’m so glad I did. I’m hoping for a book 2 as long as Mr Heller is the narrator. Keeping my eye on this author

A winner

John Deacon delivers another great story of the old west and Johnny Heller’s narration brings it to life.

How long it took to figure out who the real bad guy was.

Reading how the Marshall looked past the tomboy Cordearia and found the young lady inside.

Light reading. Very light reading.

This is less a western and more a whodunit. Or in reality who is going to do it. Story written so poorly that I guess the answer to that question halfway through the book. The only reason I gave it a rating as high as 3 is that I did finish the book. It did put me to sleep twice, so it is good for that.
