She was an old soul and poor and he was a millionaire who was keeping his wealth a secret. He saved her mother's life when she was dying from lung cancer and couldn't afford the surgery that could save her. They fell in love with each other and the money didn't matter.

John and Sassy

I really liked the characters in this book reacted how they SHOULD, not in a soppy end-of-my-world overreaction during the dramatic suspenseful parts. it was very believable and enjoyable, and had the perfect amount of suspense to keep me hanging on until the end!

If I didn’t know better, I would think this was written by a ghost writer. I’m used to a lot of dialog and tension between the main characters in Palmer’s books and this has NONE! If this was the first book of hers I had ever read, it would be the last. Her early books are fantastic and I have collected every one. Not this series!
