About this listen
Daniel Faust is back from hell and out for blood. He has a new face and a deadly mission: to find the tiger-queen Naavarasi and his own traitorous brother, and put them both six feet underground.
But when Naavarasi’s shape-shifting minions abduct one of Daniel’s own, it’s time for a desperate rescue. With his demonic lover Caitlin and his precocious apprentice Melanie, he follows a thread of nonexistent airlines, ghostly packages, and urban legends all the way to Springfield, a small town with big secrets.
A small town where everything closes at sundown and people are warned not to go out after dark. A small town where the library offers books written by authors who never existed, and the locals seem to be acting out parts assigned by an invisible director. There’s only one way into Springfield. There’s no easy way out. And as the fabric of reality begins to warp and change all around them, Daniel and company will have to learn a new set of rules if they want to survive and put an end to Naavarasi’s twisted design.
This is a rescue mission, but there’s more at stake than a single life. The consequences are cosmic. He’s gunning for a pair of heads tonight but before his work is done, Daniel Faust may have to drop enough bodies to fill a graveyard.

Story
From the best-selling author of the Sandman Slim series, a lush, dark, stand-alone fantasy built off the insurgent tradition of China Mieville and M. John Harrison - a subversive tale that immerses us in a world where the extremes of bleakness and beauty exist together in dangerous harmony in a city on the edge of civility and chaos. The Great War is over. The city of Lower Proszawa celebrates the peace with a decadence and carefree spirit as intense as the war’s horrifying despair.

Taylor is the name, John Taylor. My card says I'm a detective, but what I really am is an expert on finding lost things. It's part of the gift I was born with as a child of the Nightside. I left there a long time ago, with my skin and sanity barely intact. Now I make my living in the sunlit streets of London. But business has been slow lately, so when Joanna Barrett showed up at my door, reeking of wealth, asking me to find her runaway teenage daughter, I didn't say no.

Story
Irresistibly drawn to mysteries, if only to debunk them, reporter Lionel Page exposes supernatural frauds, swindlers, and charlatans. His latest case is an obsession—at least for an ancient and wealthy heiress: verify the authenticity of a lost Edgar Allan Poe manuscript circulating through New York City’s literary underworld. But the shrewd Regina Dunkle offers more than money. It’s a pact. Fulfill her request, and Lionel’s own notorious buried past, one he’s been running from since he was a child, will remain hidden.

Love the Series hate the wait!
Another great addition to the series. I always enjoy the books but felt the progress in the main story arc was a bit lacking in this one. It felt more filler than substance. Still, the narrator did an excellent job as always bringing life to the characters

Can't get any Better!
As a long time fan of Daniel Faust I just noticed a new book, this one. This is a series that just keeps getting better. It is a shame though that the books don't come out quicker. Each new book in the series turns into my favorite book in the series. This one is no different! The description of the surroundings in this book is superior! Adam Verner does his typical excellent job of narration, and the story is fast moving, lots of action as well as always being thought provoking. After 11 Daniel Faust books I WANT MORE, and as soon as inhumanly possible! Love this book. Do yourself a big favor and read this series!

incredible! fantastic!! 💞💞💞!!!
diving into Craig Schaefer’s world is like coming home from trick-or-treating with all full-sized chocolate bars!! it’s amazing!!
and this book doesn’t disappoint! it’s full of the crazy you expect, with lots of twists and turns you’ll never see coming. i almost want to start it from the beginning again right now, just so i can experience it all over again!!
thanx to the blog, and well, the ending, i know this isn’t it for Dan and his friends. they’ll be back, with a plan to take down the Enemy once and for all, and hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long!!
this story is simply masterful!! CS is a master at what he does, and AV is a master in the delivery!! i couldn’t ask for more! but i’ll Hope for it!!!
