Also Great For Writers!

I’m constantly telling neophyte writers to examine their craft through the lens of other storytelling media. And this book contains some real gems for character behavior. Actors, after all, embody the characters they portray. Judith Weston’s insights for guiding directors to better understand the actor’s process, her tips and methods, can be very useful for writers who can appreciate looking through the other end of the telescope to gain distance, as well as objectivity.

A great view into directing

Judith Wilson has a frank and in-depth discussion about all things related to directing. Her desire to enable actors, and more importantly to protect the characters in the script, is insightful and brings great clarity to the role of Director.

Opened my eyes and ears.

Gave me a better understanding of the relationship between Directors and Actors, and the tools in which to facilitate the process.

Wished I had the physical book!!

Great read! There are a lot of great tips and experiences. It was great that there were examples of actors/actresses of when ideas were applicable.

Fantastic tool for directors and also actors

I am an actor/director and found that the information within this book is essential and incredibly insightful. It collects multiple techniques and methods and apply them in a way that is crash and easy to follow.

I also have the printed book version, and the audio version is updated and adapted in a great way and read by Judith herself so it is like being in a private coaching session with her.

Highly recommend

Will make actors sit up straight

Actors will be wondering where the hidden camera has been this whole time because it seems she knows them so well. Articulates so many things that went right or wrong from some of your favorite times acting or directing and explains WHY it likely was the way it was. Outstanding.

All directors need to read this.

Funny how sometimes what you need shows up at the right time. On my second read and bought her Book the directors intuition.
