Not a perfect story, the ending is kind of rushed, but makes me laugh out loud a lot so I love it. If you enjoy it to there is a second book in the series that is also great.

I found it to be a real tr8eat to finally get to hear the voice of Douglas Addams, The Creator of The Hitchhiker's Guide himself, You get the real feel for his work through his voice and his expressiveness...
This is a true treat for all those who have followed Arthur Dent through his trip through and to the end of the Universe....

I love the blending of absurdness into a coherent book, I would go so far to call it art

I would compare this to the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. In fact, it would appear to me to be even better due to mystery involved. I absolutely adored this book

the beginning bangs on a bit, but if you can over come that, then you are subject to the most elegant book I have read in a long time

How many times have I read this ... and every other book Mr. Adams wrote? I really can't remember. Although his "Hitchhiker" series is better know, I actually like the two Dirk Gently books even better.Real plots, great characters, set on planet Earth.

And this version, read by Douglas Adams himself, is perfect. He died way too young. Miss you Douglas, always will.

This abridge version of the book is an amazing summary that hits all the major plot points, but I missed the little elements that make Douglas Adams's writing so amazing and a pleasure to listen to. I recommend that you read the book first, then listen to this abridged version when you need a "quick fix" of Science Fiction Comedy.

The plot of this book is quite a lot to try to wrap your head around if you are not prepared for it. If you are familiar with the work of Adams he is a quirky, fun, outside the box writer who likes to play with and manipulate science and language to create fantastic possibilities beyond expectation. Open your mind and prepare for a ride.

Exquisitely distilled absurdities artfully expressed in languid English humor. Quantum interconnectedness exposed as wave functions collapse to create a surreal adventure. Narrated perfectly by the author, I can listen to this repeatedly as music. Don't play this back with acceleration. You will miss the pleasure of absorbing the tempo and timing.
