About this listen

No matter how much we plan, life - and people - have a way of surprising us. For Doctor KT O’Bannon, a near-fatal tragedy derails a career and disrupts everything she thought she knew about herself and her future. Battered and nearly broken, she turns for solace to the one woman who knows her best, her ex-lover Doctor Tory King. Their unexpected reunion in Provincetown uncovers old wounds, forges new bonds, and awakens long-buried passions. While Tory’s lover Sheriff Reese Conlon struggles to uncover a deadly drug ring and Officer Bri Parker navigates the torturous path between friendship and desire, Tory and KT - and those who love them - are forced to examine the boundaries of love, friendship, and the ties that transcend time.

Love the series- hate the word lover.

I love this series and I’m so excited to listen to them all, but I cringe every time the word ‘Lover’ is used. First of all, they’re engaged now. Secondly, they’re relationship is so much more than that. They’re partners and soon to be wives. I can only hope that the term will fade away in the next few books. It’s not going to stop me from listening, but it u I s definitely something I notice each time.

Book 3

Can this series get even better? The construct of these characters is so very well done that one can almost believe that they are real. The narrator has made the words into reality. I started out thinking I could just listen to Safe Harbor but was I mistaken. I have become enmeshed in the lives of these characters and cannot stop the entry into the next part of their lives.

Overall good story

The narrator was great but the story was missing something for me. I love the other books in this series so I have already purchased the next book in the series. I am sure I will not be disappointed.

Still Good

In this, the 3rd book in the Provincetown series, we're introduced to KT O'Bannon, Tory's ex love. After suffering a career threating injury, KT went to Tory for help. Tory, understandably so, is reluctant to over KT a job. The new character in the series, Pia Torres is a rehab specialist and of course, the sparks fly when she meets KT. Tory and Reese love is still as strong as ever but is put to the test when Reese is called into active duty. The drama. A body is found in the dunes and it's up to the young recruits, Bri Parker and my girl, Allie Tremont to find the party where the drugs are being sold. Just like the first two, the story just moves along. The love between Tory and Reese is inspiring and the sex scenes are as hot as ever. Nicol Zanzarella narration is simply amazing. Her voice is so deep and well, you know. If you have immerse reading, I highly recommend reading it along with Nicol's narration. Audio or not, it's still a very good story to a great series. Enjoy

Distant Shores, Silent Thunder is Awesome!

Where does Distant Shores, Silent Thunder rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Right at the top, the voice carries the compelling story of Reese, Tory and K.T. and Pia and the town of Providence Mass, And all the side characters like Bree. Caroline, Ally and Sheriff Parker. It is a well rounded book that keeps you interested and the vocal of the reader is perfect for all the parts,

What did you like best about this story?

How the book keep a carful balance between the relationship of Tory and Reese, K.T. and Pia, Tory and K.T. Bree and Ally, Bree and Caroline without letting you miss-out on the story. Some of the relationships were just friends, others lovers, others ex lovers, All complexed relationships always adding to the story.

Which character – as performed by Nicol Zanzarella – was your favorite?

Tory King sounds just like I image her sounding in my head, She is my favorite. But Nicol does a good job with all the character making a different voice for each one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time I would have loved to have sat an listened to it in one sitting but I did not have that kind of time! Anyway it was also ok to listen to in small pieces and start it back up and listen to that way, But I plan to listen to many times again, over and over.

Any additional comments?

This is some of Radcyffe's best writing: Coupled with a beautiful reading, there is no way to go wrong?

A solid story in a series that's a bit shaky.

I like this one more than the second. I feel like it has a lot of substance to it. As well as characters with a fair amount of "flaws". Room to grow without it being overly stereotypical.

Narration problem

I enjoyed the story but there was a definite problem with the narration. There was zero pause when it moved from a scene with one couple to the next scene. It was like listening to a long run on sentence.

The story is good just confusing at times when the narrator switches so abruptly. Usually there is a short pause, noise, announcing next chapter…something.
