About this listen

Literary agent Emily May is in danger of losing everything she's worked for - her job, her home, her friends, and the security she provides her older sister back in Singapore - all because she doesn't have a green card.

Racecar enthusiast, high-flying, fast-living Derian Winfield is called home when the only family member she still cares about falls ill. Forced into assuming a role in her father's dynasty she's spent years avoiding, Derian needs to rehabilitate her black sheep reputation in a hurry, or the agency will likely end up being lost in a takeover.

Together she and Emily take on Derian's father and his hatchet woman, and in the process Derian comes up with a plan to solve both their problems. Now she only needs to convince Emily to marry her - a perfectly reasonable solution to all their troubles, or so she thinks. She just hadn't counted on falling in love.

The u-haul is offset by years of interactions, even if guarded. Cross-culture ethnically, the lovers have similar tragedies that has shaped them as well as loyalty where it counts. Great character development. I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes publishing insights. Not at all sure how the woman in the cover art relates, but the story was great.

Great Story!

First time I listened to this author and basically picked it because of my favorite reader, Abby Craden. Loved the story and it was well written. In fact, I think there is definitely room for another novel with these two characters.

Good story

This book is well written with characters and emotions that left me wanting more. A longing for the world to wash away so I could continue living in a world this author and narrator created. Together they laid out a story that I never wanted to end. Beautiful, captivating, and powerful with emotion that is both overwhelming and breathtaking. A wonderful dance of Love, desire, and passion you can feel, with a longing for more.

At a loss for words....

I lived the story. I mean, it wasn't the most exciting or the most captivating but it was a nice little love story and its as good as expected from Radclyffe.

As usual, the romance was way too quick but I've gotten used to that when it comes to lesbian books.

The narrator was awesome. Abby is always a good narrator, only second to Maxine who reads the Midnight Hunt books, in my opinion at least. but anyway, I loved it overall. it was good

Good Story, Great Narrator

The story was fine for a light listen, with good narration and generally likeable characters. It lacked in character and backstory development, but worked for a quick Saturday read. I was initially excited to see this author include a Person of Color as one of the primary characters in the story; unfortunately, the only way one would know that was because it's stated that she was from Singapore, but that's it. This actually became distracting, because I keep seeking character descriptions or cultural references that would support her being Singaporean, but there were none that I can recall. Even the and title and cover photo made no sense, in that regard. I was particularly disappointed with this lack of effort on the author's part.

It needed more.

Even though the story is predictable, I still love every bit of it. Abby is the best!!!!. I simply love her voice. It's rich, full, and deep. It can be light, airy, and innocent. What a combination. The story is a feel-good, happy ending get you through the day story. Try it

LOVED IT!!!!!

Excellent. I fell in love with the characters and the story. I have always enjoyed Radcliff's books, but I got lost in this one. Beautifully believable, tinder and rough at the same time. love it.
