About this listen

New Vegas, 23rd century - a sprawling city huddling beneath an artificial atmospheric bubble on a distant moon. Pleasure seekers flock there from every corner of the galaxy to take in the shows and play the tables in the huge casinos. But beneath the glitz and the glitter, organised crime rules the streets.

Whilst Rose Tyler works as a waitress in the Full Moon nightclub, Jack Harkness poses as a reporter for the Daily Galaxy.

Meanwhile the Doctor is helping the police department with their investigation into The Whisper, a strange vigilante that has been terrorising the city’s underworld. But the Doctor is also on a mission of his own - to save Police Chief McNeil’s life at all costs.

Written by Cavan Scott and Mark Wright. Directed by John Ainsworth.

I'm fairly easy to please, so it's not going to be a lot of words, but the story premise was great, classical 9th Doctor. I was happy Captain Jack Harkness was part of this story (I miss seeing stories with him) and anything with Rose Tyler is always a huge plus for me. The Narrators were awesome, it's nice hearing Mr. Briggs soothing voice without the ring modulator (a.k.a. voice of the Daleks) and he had a pretty good co-narrator.

The writer did a fantastic job of portraying the Ninth Doctor in all his glorious quirks and the responses of his companions perfectly in the written story. I'm going to be on the lookout for mor stories by Mr. Swallow.

My favorite TV Doctor and Companion

While the narration was a little off putting at first, I really liked this book and by the second chapter I got used to the reader's style. It's a fun, very classic style of ninth doctor story, and the ending was fantastic ;)

nice short story and a fun romp
