Nicholas Briggs and Camille Coduri are the readers of these three original novels featuring the Ninth Doctor and Rose, as played on TV by Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper.
Join the Doctor and Rose on these journeys in Time and Space as they encounter faceless killers in 1920s London, get trapped in an alien prison camp and discover something very sinister behind the latest video game craze.
The stories are The Clockwise Man by Justin Richards, The Monsters Inside by Stephen Cole and Winner Takes All by Jacqueline Rayner. Based on the hit BBC TV series.
Nicholas Briggs has provided the voices of the Daleks, Cybermen, Ice Warriors and numerous other alien characters in the Doctor Who TV series. Camille Coduri played Jackie Tyler in several episodes of the series from 2005 onwards.

-The Clockwise Man - (7/10) Solid story about robots. The presentation of this is very, very Russel T Davies era, which makes it feel like it could have been an episode of the era.
-The Monsters Inside - (7.5/10) I felt like this was the best of the bunch. Bizarre concepts of how a space prison could be run. The Slitheen are the big bads here and I think that they are well used. The Slitheen are interesting, dangerous enemies (except for the farting) and I like them here. There’s also a cute slime monster who is chummy with the Doctor (cute as in nice and harmless, bot cute as in a sidekick)
-Winner Takes All - (2/10) Evil hedgehogs use a video game to recruit soldiers in an unending war. This idea was used in Sarah Jane Smith Adventures and I liked it better there. I really didn’t like this one. It’s extremely mean-spirited and pretty much every new character is just the worst. There’s so much anger and contempt in this one and not in an entertaining way. The giant hedgehogs aren’t interesting or funny. If you are expecting Beep the Meep, you’ll have to search elsewhere. I can take dark in Doctor Who (there are some very, very dark stories), but those stories are usually artistically valid. This is just unpleasant and directionless.
Even with the dud of Winner Takes all, the other two still make this a great value. And, of course, other people did enjoy the story that I hated, and you may, too. My opinion isn’t any more valid than anyone else’s.
Have a good one!
