Dr WHO--WHAT??

Would you consider the audio edition of Doctor Who to be better than the print version?

I have never read the print version

Who was your favorite character and why?

Love the accent. Good acting.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this but at times I found it hard to follow who was were and what they were doing. On a couple of occasions I had to back it up to get my bearings.

My first Doctor Who audio adventure, but definitely not my last!

I really wish that this one had been an episode of the show, it's really that good! The story was compelling and just the right amount of creepy for me, as someone afraid of the water--if you liked The Waters of Mars episode, there's a similar feeling to this story.
David Tennant's narration was spot-on, obviously as The Doctor, but all characters were brilliantly voiced, my favorite being Crenshaw...so delightfully unnerving!
Final words: give it a go, it's so worth it if you loved Ten!

David Tennant brings this story to life

David Tennant is a fantastic narrator and brings to life not just The Doctor but all the characters from Rose to the villains. There were some great action moments. Overall I enjoyed the story as a fan of Doctor Who even with a few moments where I thought the plot and characterisations weren't completely consistent within the story.

Not as good as the show

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I have yet to listen to a Doctor Who novel that was worth my time, and yet I keep trying. I love the television show and keep hoping to find an audio book that captures that same magic. This one did not though it might have been a half-decent tv script.

But at least I got to listen to David Tennant.

Strange and different, not a clone of the TV show

The story involved the Doctor, Rose, Mickey and friends of Rose - and I don't think the Tardis figured in at all. Everything happened here on earth but wasn't entirely earthly to be sure. I can't say I *liked* the storyline, it was creepy and I'm not a fan of the creepies to be honest. What I am a fan of is David Tennant as the Doctor. His voice acting was so fantastic that I had to keep reminding myself that all the voices were really all one person - his Mikey was so well done I kept wondering who the actor doing Mikey was! 100 stars for the narration, and 3 stars for the story. Nothing wrong with the story other than it kind of creeped me out. Other people may think that by itself is worth a couple dozen stars, so consider your own preferences, please!

Good escapism

Standard Doctor Who fun. A great escape for after a more intense book. Love hearing David Tennant.

A great ghost story!

You just can't go wrong with a ghost story, especially when it envolves Tennant's Doctor, Rose, and Mickey!

Even if you've read the book, listen to this anyway. As usual, David Tennant's enthusiasm really makes this audio (and his immitation of Mickey is right on!). It's great just to listen to him read this story as a Doctor Who fan.

Highly Recommended!

A Great Return to Tennant

Would you listen to Doctor Who again? Why?

Absolutely, especially as narrated by The Doctor himself. He nails all the characters, and is as emotive as ever.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Taken less inspiration from Waters of Mars, one of the more mediocre Doctor stories.

Which scene was your favorite?

When The Doctor blasts through the wall. "Close enough!"

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It's fluid and cerebral
