About this listen

There’s a secret war going on for the future of money. The United States government—as it has for generations—is winning. And you can too.

Since the creation of the Federal Reserve more than one hundred years ago, the American dollar has become the most successful product (of any kind) of all time and the language of commerce for the planet. From the Gold Reserve Act to Bretton Woods to the petrodollar and beyond, the U.S. has successfully ridden the waves of historical transformation to stay on top.

The next big change has become clear—digital currency. And the U.S. government’s plan to control the rise of Bitcoin as well as the currencies of the BRICS countries is already in motion. Over three decades—including the 2008 real estate collapse and the 2020 pandemic—investor John S. Pennington Jr. has studied how the Fed’s marketing formula promotes and protects its number one product by creating insatiable demand.

In this provocative book, Pennington explains how he incorporated these strategies by starting his career selling used blue jeans and ending up co-founding a $28 billion family of investment funds.

Dollars, Gold, and Bitcoin not only reveals the hidden agenda of the world’s most powerful bank. It will also change how you think, problem-solve, and incorporate critical thinking as it provides a handbook for making billion-dollar decisions that can take your life and business to the next level.

Phenomenal Book

Had the pleasure of listening to this book. Definitely worth every second. Don’t try to stop the wave, find the best surfboard and ride it as long as you possibly can!

Quality Content, great read!

John’s perspective on “compared to what?“ for context and the US dollar put into the equation whenever something doesn’t make sense, is spot on!

Thought Provoking and Inspiring

The themes of this book were very compelling! He cooked the perfect “hotcake” of a book with substantive flavorful facts topped with the perfect combination of sweet syrupy stories!

It was very entertaining and educational! A book that both an economics expert and non-finance person could equally enjoy!

Ok if you want to start your own fund, that's about it.

It is well read, and the author has a great story. Other than that, the title is misleading.

The subtitle should be the whole title, except there's not a good plan for "how to make money from it" other than starting your own fund. He uses a key example of raising/loaning $75, 000,000-100,000,000... Not exactly in the realm of most people's network.

Other than a theory about how the fed might manipulate the price of Bitcoin, there's nothing else about bitcoin or how to make money from it, same for gold.

Wisdom

Great listen, interesting and highly probable theory. Would and have enjoyed John’s views on monetary and geo-political policy.

Not really about what it says.

It’s interesting content, but bounces around too many topics. No clear structure. Not really about the title or description. If you want to start a PE fund, then this is a good read. Should be titled “PE funds”
Mostly about the authors history and businesses. I like his delivery and content, but again too off topic most of the book.
