Publisher's summary

In my time with PUPI, formally known as Private, Unaffiliated Paranormal Investigations, I've seen a lot. Learned a lot. And not all of it's been good. But what we do - make people accountable for crimes committed with magic - is important work.

Still. Even I need to take a break every now and again. Or so I've just been told (ordered).

So hey, vacation. Maybe I'll finally figure out what's going on with the "special bond" between me and the boss man, Benjamin Venec. Venec seems to like that idea - he's invited me down to join him on a jaunt to Philly. But no sooner do I arrive in the City of Brotherly Love than we're called in to look at a dead body.

And that's when life gets really complicated….

Editorial reviews

The fourth book in Laura Anne Gilman's Paranormal Scene Investigations series is rife with all the thrills and adventure listeners have come to expect from Gilman's previous outings. After working on countless crimes, solving murders, and deflecting abuse, Bonnie Torres is given - rather commanded to take - a respite. Her boss at the PUPI invites her to accompany him to Philadelphia for a little trip. Veteran narrator, Romy Nordlinger's sharp and energetic voice guides Bonnie along on what is supposed to be just a simple vacation. The characters in Dragon Justice get dealt a horrendous turn, however, after she and her boss stumble upon a murder victim.

excellent, wish there were more!

I love this group PUPI and what they are doing. I only wish the author could write more. I'd like to see how the people in these stories are doing!

When does the next book come out?

Any additional comments?

The PUPIs are moving up in the paranormal world—more employees, more cases, and more Bonnie (B) and Ben (B). In this installment, B-squared come to an understanding about the merge; Bonnie’s scrying visions become clear, and PUPI solidifies itself as an agency of fairness. If you like paranormal crime, you will enjoy this series and this narrator.

Great book. I wish there were more.

I really really REALLY wish Gilman would continue Bonnie's story! I also really wish there had been a "proof listener" to pick up the many small errors in the reading, each of which jarred me out of the story. (Things like "What do you THINK?" [snarky] vs. "What do YOU think?" [asking for the other person's opinion]). Audio book editors, take note. We notice these things.

Interesting, funny and intriguing.

Totally loving this series. If you like interesting new magics and appreciate a few laughs through an intriguing story line with a kick butt down to earth woman, you will appreciate this Laura Anne Gilman series.
