About this listen

The time has come when the people of Lumnia must unite or be doomed to fall. Ancient foes must become trusted friends if they are to endure. But The Eternal Emperor Shinzan has weapons that have yet to be unleashed. And he will not allow the challenge to his power to go unanswered.

Ethan must now seek out the meaning of the prophecy that has guided his fate. With Kat at his side, they walk fearlessly into the unknown. But ghosts from the past return to haunt them. And their love and devotion will be tested to the very limits of endurance.

Ready for the next book!

The story has had some interesting twists, although it also has a few storyline developments that are not the greatest. Overall, looking forward to the next book and, mayhaps, a few resolutions!

The plot thickens

Any additional comments?

I like the fantasy world the author has created. This is the best book so far. The evil mage is pretty darn evil. There's an interesting scenario growing with our hero and one of his ancestors who sometimes controls his body. There's intrigue, extortion, battles, and dragons. I'm liking this series. And am looking forward to book 4.

Derek Perkins is a great narrator. He makes it worth the listen.

There's a book 4???

This book is not as good as the first two. I thought it was the last book and turns out it's not. mostly character development. some good parts. kind of boring overall.

Great addition to the series!

I like the overall layout of the story Brian is telling as well as the way he leads you through the adventure. I also like the breaks he takes between the characters paths and I feel they are better placed than in other books instead of just in the middle of something intense like other books he leads it to a good breaking point so it isn't leaving you frustrated.

I don't like how Ethan is helpless. He's giving far too much control to his spiritual ancestor which is making it frustrating but that's part of the story and hopefully this internal battle gains some traction moving forward.

Final note, please use other words than recounted for when a character is recalling a part of their adventure.

Keeps Getting Better

Would you listen to Dragonvein: Book Three again? Why?

Yes, the story is awesome and the narrator adds to a great delivery.

What other book might you compare Dragonvein: Book Three to and why?

Blood Song, that was another great series.

Have you listened to any of Derek Perkins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't yet but I have ordered other books that Derek Perkins narrates because of how much of a great performance he had done on this series.

Good

I just keep wishing that Ethan want always so weak and untalented as he is portrayed.

can't wait for next book!

I agree with other reviews, Ethan's weakness is starting to ruin the story for me.

I'm also starting to find a lot of the dwarves storyline being sort of copped out, at least that's how it feels. I really hope that's not the case as it's very interesting back story and it add depth to the race.

Regardless of my criticism I still found myself listening every chance I got and didn't want it to stop. Very excited for the next book and I hope my fears are baseless and just the result of very compelling story telling with more depth than I'm grasping.
