About this listen

A young mother will do anything to flee from her abusive and drug dealer boyfriend, but some other people are caught in the middle by this decision, which leads to a series of life-changing events.

Dream, a once-happy girl gets caught in an abusive and frustrating love life with her boyfriend, Cheez, a ruthless and top game player in the underworld. Dream realizes the life she had always dreamed of will never happen with Cheez, who treats her like a punching bag while he’s also busy running the drug connect for his boss, Gomez.

Dream decides to escape with her friend, child, and all the cash she can carry along with her. Cheez feels Dream leaving him is a sign of weakness as the overseer of the Gomez Cartel, and he will do anything to stop her.

Meanwhile, Low, a member of the cartel who is also eyeing Cheez’s position, thinks the best he can do to spite him is to help Dream escape. Low contracts Dice and Trigga for Dream’s escape even though this job will cause Trigga to return to a part of his life he worked so hard to break away from.

Love meets pain and power meets betrayal as everyone fights to make sure their goal is achieved.

What A Read

This book starts off somewhat in the midst of the story but I loved this author’s writing. You get pulled into the story and the characters are drawn in with enough information to let you know their part in the story. Love and ownership is the fault to so many men. But a woman will get tired of it. Great read. Now to part 2.

I enjoyed it

This was a good short read. I learned what was most important to make the plot interesting, got a lot of sex, drugs and murder. And was left knowing there's a part 2 if I want another ride.

When writers WRITE

I’ve gotten away from urban lit as it’s become saturated and redundant. But something drove me to read this one and I am glad I did. I truly enjoyed this piece as it was well written, and kept my attention start to finish. I liked that the storyline was focused on the dope game but took on the life of a different type of character as well as showing the humanness of those surroundings her. I’m also glad it ended as it did leaving room for a sequel!

This book read like a movie!

Then Narrator brought the story to life. I really enjoyed her voice. The story although familiar was pretty good as well. It wasn't overly sexual or packed with too much action , it was well balanced. Only thing I didnt like were the names: Crunch,- Cheese-Paper-Dice-Secret-EBay-Lokey-Dream. I'm glad some of them got killed off hopefully in part 2 the names will be better.
