A most joyous ride!

Driving Home for Christmas is a wonderfully joyous holiday story with an undercurrent of grinchy behavior! Collin Murphy is a billionaire entrepreneur flying to a meeting in Minneapolis where he will be giving a presentation about an expansion he wants for his company. He is the host of an important charity event, right after the business meeting, that he can't miss. Abby Thompson is on the same flight, trying to get home to her parents' home in Burnesville, MN. She has just lost everything. Her job, her boyfriend and her best friend who was cheating with Abby's boyfriend! She is completely miserable and just wants to get home to celebrate Christmas with her mom and dad.  When their plane runs into weather and grounds them in Wichita, KS, they are about to continue their journey together, much to Colin's chagrin. He rented the last of the cars and Abby is left out in the cold until she pleads with him through her eyes to please help her out. He shakes his head, knowing he's trapped, and they're on their way. Along the road, Abby is the picture of the season, singing her favorite Christmas cards and laughing at memories of Christmases past. Colin starts out stoic, and becomes even more irritated as he drives. Where those negative feelings are coming from, Abby doesn't know and she just can't understand how he could not at least like Christmas. The answers are waiting to be shared, but he's not ready, yet. He refers to his family as the reason he doesn't celebrate at all. They start to open up to each other, but real communication is what they're missing. Their night together in a ratty motel was an enlightening experience for both but their problems with communicating still kept them from seeing eye to eye on anything. Colin heard everything Abby shared about the beauty of the Christman season, but he didn't take it to heart. Or did he! My heart was full when Colin discovered his truth and knew how the rest of the stay in Minneapolis was going to go. Abby's mother is a perfect example of the mom with the biggest heart who will do anything to help the man who adores her daughter. I would love to see an epilogue or sequel because they have so much more to their story.
The narration was beautifully done by Brian Martin and Melina Schein. Their dynamic voices depicted each character in a way that reflected their feelings and personality, adding to the enjoyment of the story.

An Emotional Rollercoaster Ride to healing an love

When everything goes bad for Abby her ex stealing everything she had leads to her getting a ride home from a man who doesn't smile and has no Christmas spirit. She tries to teach him to take life easier at times .She shows him how she can be a glass half full person even if her heart is crushed by betrayal.Colin was raised mostly by the house keeper and wasn't shown love growing up .So when he started his business he vowed to never fall in love an have his life destroyed by someone.Until he meets Abby the most chatty annoying woman he gets stuck with on the way to his business conference. They get snowed in he misses the meeting an ad they continue to travel toward her family home she gets beneath the walls he has around his heart. She teaches him the real meaning of Christmas. There are so many twists an turns to this story that will have riveted until the very last page an leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes an you can feel their emotions an their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.

Errogent..

I loved the story.. but when he got back in to the car and low blew the comment about not having money to even buy a coffee.. it was definitely sad. He was sexually and emotionally okay with telling her his story about his mother, then saying something like that. Definitely pompous.

Good christmas story

Driving Home Christmas, an Audiobook by Lexy Timms was a love/hate story that I am still not sure about. It’s the story of Colin and Abigail. He is a wealthy CEO on his way to an important meeting. The plane is grounded because of weather. She is also on this flight and is desperate to get home. She finagles a ride from him…much to his chagrin.

I didn’t like either of these characters and that made getting through the story somewhat difficult. They didn’t have chemistry and I’m not sure how they were even attracted to each other. Towards the end it was better.

This story was narrated by Brian Martin and Marina Shein who did a good job, though her voice was really irritating, at times.

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this Audiobook.

Fun story!

Lexy does a good job of character building in a short time to pull you in. Characters are believable and find yourself invested in the story. Colin is the ultimate workaholic yet Abby opens his eyes to the true meaning of Christmas and the keys to happiness to accompany his success!

STEAMY is the word, but not interesting or good

The idea of the story was nice, even all the little side trips and soem character development, but the steamy romance wasn't steamy it was crude, I got this for a fun romantic Christmas story and it bombed, trashy sex is not romance
