Great details. Great sources. Accurate facts. The war on drugs is an exercise in futility. It will never stop. “As long as americanans want drugs ill sell them”-Pablo Acosta.

Highly informative without exploiting or glamorizing the subject matter. Highly recommended. The narrator was also top notch .

Drug Lord reveals the story of Pablo Acosta, critical figure in the transitional time period between old world and modern Mexican Drug cartels. If you watched Narcos Mexico, they paid no real honest time on the subject of Acosta, which is a shame because he was authentic Bandito, with old world values, and he controlled an area of central Mexico which was the gateway between the southern states of Oaxaca, Michoacán and Acapulco and N Mexico. For people who loved the (now gone) great Mexican landrace pot strains from the 60s and early 70s, and wonder what happened, this story provides the missing links.

Not just another cartel book

The book was well written and it has a bunch of action in it, for being a true story. If you have 12 hours of time to listen to a story full of heart riveting action, well then check this out.

Well written and very entertaining. Ton of dates and facts. It was a shame that it ended.

Great story!!!

Captivating and enticingly well read. I was almost sad to reach Pablo's death, even though I knew it was the climactic part of his life.

One of the best crime books I ever listened to.

The book was recommended to me by a friend in 2018 but I had been unable to find it in an audible format until a few days ago. It was worth the wait. Captured my attention instantly and I finished it in record time considering i have not read a novel in many years. The story is very intense and being about true events, provides an education on something that everyone should be aware of. I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn about drug trafficking but it should be noted this book has a lot of well described and vivid violence.
