About this listen

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From “a legal literary legend” (USA Today) comes a gripping thriller of two childhood friends who find themselves on opposite sides of the law as adults, with all of John Grisham’s trademark twists and turns.

For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

Keith Rudy and Hugh Malco grew up in Biloxi in the sixties and were childhood friends, as well as Little League all-stars. But as teenagers, their lives took them in different directions. Keith’s father became a legendary prosecutor, determined to “clean up the Coast.” Hugh’s father became the “Boss” of Biloxi’s criminal underground. Keith went to law school and followed in his father’s footsteps. Hugh preferred the nightlife and worked in his father’s clubs. The two families were headed for a showdown—one that would ultimately happen in a courtroom.

Life itself hangs in the balance in The Boys from Biloxi, a sweeping saga rich with history and with a large cast of unforgettable characters.

Grisham transports you to post world war 2 Biloxi. You fall in love with the Rudy’s and want to root for Hugh to turn it around even though he’s despicable. Grisham is a master and stays true to his style improving each time. Never a wasted credit.

Grisham does not disappoint

Engaging story from the beginning to the end. As a fiction, I bet it was well researched for accuracy.

Wonderful lawyer insight

What a wonderful feeling I experienced when I saw that my favorite author had written a new book! And clearly, he did not, nor has not, ever disappointed me! The Boys from Biloxi was an outstanding read, which I enjoyed so much, that I have now listened to it twice in the brief amount of time I’ve added the book to my library. Please release more Mr. Grisham….you are priceless treasure to the literary world!

The Boys from Biloxi was a well written story. It’s a story about the innocence of youth and the competition of later life. It’s good vs. evil right from wrong. The story triggers one’s emotions more than once. All of Grisham’s books are fabulous, but I think this one is my favorite.

Outstanding Thriller

Loved everything about this book: the rich storyline, the characters who were so easy to love or hate, the detailed prose, the themes of friendship, family, betrayals, good vs evil. Highly recommend

This is simply a remarkable story told by a master. May just well be his finest novel yet. Absolutely enthralling, significant and an unbelievably good read. This is a winner on every level and Michael Beck delivers superbly once again.

One of his very best
