About this listen

When Piper Streyle failed to show up for work, a coworker called her home. Piper's three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Shaina, answered and said, "A mean man carried Mommy away." Then the line went dead.

In the tranquil region of southeast South Dakota, word of the young mother who was brazenly abducted from her home in broad daylight shocked residents. Piper was the second woman to vanish, following the startling incident of a young woman who narrowly escaped abduction by fighting for her life on a dark and secluded highway. An intensive search by an elite team of investigators uncovered a secret crime location, but the discovery of a nightshirt cut in half, a burnt candle, and a homemade bondage board revealed the chilling truth behind the missing women.

With the help of a quick-witted and streetwise maximum security prison inmate, prosecutor Larry Long and his team were able to piece together the sinister facts of the diabolical crimes.

Best-selling authors Phil and Sandy Hamman, along with former Attorney General Larry Long, dive into the grim and demented world of Robert Leroy Anderson, a sexual sadist, rapist, and murderer.

Duct Tape Killer is also the story of perseverance and proof that love will not be extinguished by the ruinous evil that seeks to take root in our world.

Contains mature themes.

Just Okay

I enjoyed the info presented about the case. I do feel like it could have been even short due to the backtracking.

Very good

I actually listened to this because someone's review was so negative saying that they are pushing Christian agendas...Not being Christian, wanted to listen to it make my own judgments. Other than the fact that the two women (who were murdered) were Christians, and obviously faith is very important to them. There wasn't much about that at all. At the end, the writer talking about his feelings that this guy was evil. I wasn't offended and I would recommend this book to anyone. It is chilling. I have a daughter in high school I might make listen to it. My take away you need to fight and I agree there is evil in this world, and I think Satan was moving through this guy.

Like an audiobook of forensic files

This was a very good, comfortable listen. It was just like a five hour episode of forensic files.

Too close to home!

Being from SoDak (all my life), this crime was way too close to home when it happened in the 90's! Very interesting to listen to the story & I was privileged to go to a book signing by the authors. Well done with terrific detail on this awful, awful man. As a narrator, however, research should be done to pronounce Severson, Kneip & Pierre correctly in you're going to narrate this story to people that live in the area. Quick & easy story to listen to.

Good story

Well put-together story, not the best narration, but I got used to it. Guess criminals really aren't that bright, no matter their claimed IQ.

Well Researched and Read

The facts were solid, and the research impeccable. I learned more from this than I has from reading media articles. I wish there was a memorial at Lake Vermillion for Lorisa Dumansky, as she lay undiscovered for so long that the site should be marked in her honor (with NO MENTION of the MONSTER who took her life.) The only flaw in the narration was the mispronounciation of "PIERRE" South Dakota, but unfortunately you have to be local to know the correct pronunciation. The writing was impressive, as it gave facts that expressed the horror of the ladies torture and murder, without going into unnecessary detail. Very respectfully written! A 5 star read.

good book

the book was well done. my only problem was with the narrator. living in Mc Cook County in SD. there are many names of people as well as the capitol city that are mispronounced. the narrator should find now how to pronounce names.
