About this listen

A scout from the human city of South Fort stumbles upon a group of dwarves lost in the untamed forest of the Westwood. He saves them from getting killed and rescues a dwarf prince. For these actions he is adopted by the dwarves and helps them in their wars and battles to save the kingdom.

Set in Elvenshore, A mystical place settled long ago by the elves and later abandoned by them. This story tells the tale of battles with new and old foes as the dwarves try and retake their kingdoms from the evil things that roam the forest and mountains of Elvenshore.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

All in all, this book was somewhat entertaining. The story was interesting and wasn't just a cookie cutter fantasy story. The narration was ok, but could use some editing and audio cleanup. The audio had a lot of background noise that needs to be cleaned up. The narrator's voice is pleasant, but the audio had a lot of background noise that needs to be cleaned up.

Ok but could use some audio cleanup

You need a new narrator. The person who did this is terrible. Get someone new.

The story is without sex and language which is a real plus for young adults, children. Was not so keen on the narrator and at times his voices grated but I stuck with it. I liked the characters and how they all learn to work together despite their mistrust. Good message. I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review.

Great young adult story

I enjoyed this audio book. It was fun to listen to and not the same old story. The narrator makes this story shine. I received this audio book for free at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

A different type of dwarf story.

the narrator did what he could but the story was terribly bland. At no point is there a feel of real danger and after surviving odds for the 3rd or 4th time, all sense of tension vanishes. Not sure I'll invest in the next books. Got tricked because books about dwarves are so rare and this one still managed to actually being about a human despite being amongst hundred of dwarves!

no stakes

This arc was provided via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review i enjoyed this story of friendship renewal war love lost and found as well as betrayal and loyalty tested. It had all of the elements of a good story and kept me listening until the end. The narrator was good

The meat of the book isn't bad, but the sound quality and narration are attrocious.

Audio is terrible!!!

I really tried to give this one a chance, but was a true struggle. Through absolutely no fault of the narrator (he preformed well), the ammature editing and post production hurt this book beyond redemption. The sound quality was inconsistent and poor. Extremely long pauses and breaks between sections and chapters created odd and disruptive cadences. The story was bland and unoriginal. Granted, the fantasy genre has been overpopulated, this story was far too basic and uninspired. Credit to the narrator though, as he did not have much to work with and still brought characters to life in spite of poor post production and editing.

Very poor editing & post production
