Publisher's summary

The Gods have come to San Francisco . . .

Cassius Black and Morgan King's trip to Ivory Peaks to uncover clues about their past takes an unexpected turn when a rift materializes and war demons attack the capital. Having saved one world, they return to Earth, only to find it has been rocked by ominous quakes bearing a close resemblance to the phenomenon that nearly destroyed the Dryad kingdom.

After defeating demons that emerge from a crevasse in San Francisco, Cassius and Morgan rescue the Wild God Pan with the help of Victor Sloan and the city's otherwordly. But instead of thanking them, Pan makes a startling demand: rescue his lover and prevent the Spirit Realm from being destroyed, and he will reveal the truth about who Cassius and Morgan are.

Help comes from an unexpected source when a pair of Reapers visit the city and Cassius, Morgan, and Victor soon go hunting for a missing deity who may hold the key to saving all the realms. Can they free the immortals from their prisons and find the powerful artifact that can bend the mind and will of even a God? Or will the enemy who has long manipulated them from the shadows destroy everything they have come to care for?

Contains mature themes.

Good story. Good narration.

I am enjoying the relationship between Morgan and Cassius as it evolves. Morgan's jealousy is cute, but it is starting to get a bit out of control.

The idea of having angels for main characters without over-explaining their background was interesting. Now, the author is starting to build more mythology into the story, and some of that mythology feels a bit unpolished to me. I am a fan of interesting twists on existing mythology. A good storyteller can make an old tale feel new again. I am not sure how I feel about the twists in this series though. I keep expecting Sam and Dean to make an appearance...

For some reason, I didn't feel that the revelations regarding Cassius' past suit him. I am curious about where this story is heading, so I will be listening to the next book. I am also getting addicted to the narrator's voice.

Only Getting Better

Holy freak, this book was good. I thought I enjoyed the last two but this one seriously just set the bar so much higher.

I love MM romance, and I love urban fantasy. And I especially love when these two genres can come together in a way the feels like you can’t have one without the other - like the only way the fantasy and adventure aspect can move forward is if the romance keeps pace.

THIS story does just that. I love Cassius and Morgan, and I love Morgan’s possessive nature and how much it starts to come through in this book.

Also, I love urban fantasy’s when I truly cannot see what might happen next or what might be revealed. I feel like there are too many stories that become predictable and after awhile it loses its thunder. This series though? Oh no. It’s very spontaneous but so perfectly weaving together, I love it.

This book does a great job of also weaving in what feels like normal conversations and talking points/humor that would exist in real life between coworkers and friends, and I really appreciate the effort put in here, because too often books focus too much on only plot development.

Also, as I’ve said before: Alex Kydd is freaking phenomenal with the narration. His voice is so damn sexy and the steamy scenes are enough to make you break a sweat!

(Side not. I LOVE Loki. He is probably one of my favorite side characters lol)

Why did it end like that!?

Again I really love the story especially when they’re being Angels & Gods but the relationship stuff is just meh 🫤. While I like the whole celebrate at the bar vibe ending, I wished there was a serious heart to heart with the two ML, especially with the revelations about their past lives AND I don’t appreciate the Love Triangle the writer is trying to force on us they have enough going on why add that 🙄. Plus, I know they’re in some sort of relationship but they’ve never formally agreed & no declarations of love and commitment to each other and this the 3rd Book. I’m sorta confused
