About this listen

SSA Rain Christiansen used to be the agency's golden boy. It just takes one moment of weakness, one slight, tiny, itty-bitty paranormal sighting, and all of a sudden, he's the agency's embarrassment. His boss gives him one last chance to redeem himself - go down to Brickell Bay, play nice with the local police, and leave the ghost sightings behind. Rain is determined to do exactly that, even if it kills him.

Cold-case Detective Daniel McKenna's latest investigation is going nowhere fast. Five years earlier, high school student Amy Greene went missing after leaving her part-time job and was never seen again. Daniel is glad to finally have the FBI help his department requested, even if it does come in the form of his ex.

It doesn't help that Rain is pretty sure he's falling in love with Danny all over again - if he ever stopped. Add to that the frustration of seeing ghosts at every turn while he works a case that's stalled in its tracks, and Rain is starting to wonder if second chances and happy endings are just for fairy tales.

Nice cold case murder mystery

A nice story of a fed that can see ghosts coming to grips with the fact and solving mysteries. It looks like it might be the first in a series and I am excited to see where this goes.

Surprisingly good

I was down to the dredges of good books left in the audiobook free library so I gave this a shot. It ended up being really good and interesting. Storytelling and narration are on point and it keeps moving at a good pace to keep you interested. I will be getting the next one in the series.

I liked but didn’t love

If you are looking for an extension of Kelly and Blue, this is a great substitute. Unfortunately the more the series goes on the more ridiculous the Kelly component becomes. By the end of the series Rain is a flippant ass that I no longer have patience for. I rated it high because the story is solid but I wish I could take away 3 stars for the deterioration of Rains character. In the end he’s so flippant …. Aggravating. But there is a good and solid story. In the end I took away stars because the main ghost character, who I truly appreciated, that resolution wasn’t played out. He deserved a full resolution. Not the disappointment of 15 second he arrives when summoned and an article was written.

Entertaining story!

I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying this one. This was my first experience with reading or listening to anything by this author or this narrator so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the synopsis sounded interesting and it seemed to be sort of a hybrid of my favorite genres/tropes. And ultimately, I found that to be true, even if I wasn’t a big fan of the narrator.

Wow. I was blown away

I really loved this story. It grabbed me and kept me enthralled for the entire book. I think that this is one of my favourite audio books that I have had the privilege of listening to. Noah Michael Levine is perfect, so talented. I will definitely be listening to it again soon.

Enjoyable

After my second time listening to this book I have to say that I find myself wishing to hear more. It bits all the things I like, a little mystery, some romance, a bit of paranormal, and police partnerships/team dynamics. The growth of the MC was well done and the story a good, solid listen. Now I wish for future mysteries, team fun and couple time. It may not be in the cards or maybe the author has plans, I don’t know, but I do appreciate when an author can make me feel connected enough to come back and read more than once.

A good haunted jaunt

A good mix of the paranormal and mystery. Oh, and a good amount of steamy sex. Two lovers reunite after one leaves to take a job with the FBI. Seven years apart, hurt feelings, and bravado keep them apart after they reunite. But they finally make it there. Rain’s family is a hoot. I wish there could have been more of their story actually. They are so much fun. Can’t wait to read more in the series.

Really wish it was fade to black

I wish there were more books like this that are fade to black but I’m not that lucky. It was great otherwise,

P.S. I Spook You

This book is fascinating. I couldn't put it down. Rain is so funny and smart. His ability is so cool! I love him and Danny.
I wasn't in love with the audiobook narrator, Noah Michael Levine, but he definitely did a better job than I could have.

Funny and sweet

The story was fast paced and I Rain cracks me up and I love his family. His relationship with Danny is sweet.
The narration wasn't bad, he just sounded older than I pictured Rain and Danny.
