About this listen

The first YA novel from the best-selling author of Queenie.

When Empress starts at Aniya's school, they're not exactly best friends. But, when the two teenage girls accidentally cast a spell on their 16th birthday and end up switching bodies, they quickly learn that friendship is the most important magic of all.

South London's answer to Freaky Friday, Empress & Aniya is a moving portrayal of the importance of real friendship and the ups and downs of being a teenager.

Good story wish it was longer

Well done
I wish you could’ve been six hours instead of two . it was nice to have a story where you deprived child and the world to do family were both minorities

Love knows no boundaries

This is a story of true love. Not in sexual way, but in loving sisterly way. This was a feel good listen and I'm glad I did.

Very good short story

Very nice coming off age story where friendships and family are the main focus. I did cry on some parts. But had a nice ending.

Cute and lighthearted

I enjoyed the story of the two teens. I was looking for something lighter than my usual fare of mysteries and thrillers. The short story had issues that had some depth to them without too much drama. I personally liked it.

A very good lesson in friendship.

That was a very good story. A good lesson for all of us. We all should be so lucky to have a good friend like those girls.

Sounds like something I would write, crazy enough.

Loved the short story. The bit of culture was very cute and drew very close to home. palenta is a corn meal that makes Sadza (thick porridge) which is a staple for my people in Zimbabwe......funny to find it in London!!!!

I cried a little!

It was a beautifully written story. I enjoyed the character development. It left no holes. And the narrator did a great job with the reading.
